Illegals may give state more clout
Undocumented population may give California more seats in Congress

Illegal immigration is channeling political clout to California and other border states from the Northeast and Midwest, according to a new report that predicts that California's undocumented population will equate to two seats in Congress following the 2010 Census.

The Connecticut report predicts that California, Arizona, Texas, Florida and New Jersey will gain seats in Congress after the next Census because of their illegal immigrant populations. Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, and Ohio will each lose a seat because they have relatively few undocumented immigrants. New York, which would lose two seats under the current system, would lose only one seat if illegal immigrants were excluded.

California would appear to have the most to lose if the apportionment of seats in the House were changed to be based only on citizens. According to Rodriguez' projections, California, which has one quarter of the nation's estimated 11.6 million undocumented immigrants, would be the only state to lose two seats after the 2010 Census if that population were not counted.

The nation's population of unauthorized immigrants has grown by 37 percent since the last Census, according to the U.S. Office of Immigration Statistics. California has about 2.8 million unauthorized immigrants, about 1.2 million more than Texas, the state with the second-highest total.

Will the census forms be printed in Spanish?

This crap has no end, and we need to establish a bounty system for U.S. Citizens who turn in an illegal. WE could SAVE Billions this way, and it sure would clean up this mess.

The Oligarchs have told Bush and the Republicans NO, and thus they are complying. WE THE PEOPLE get to pay the tab and stew in a sea of illegals while the country goes downhill faster an faster.

Why isn’t citizenship a requirement of being counted towards congressional allocation? Sounds like an issue conservatives could use to their advantage. I still can’t figure out why conservatives don’t push harder nationwide for voter verification laws. It should be in the national platform. It is a simple proposition only citizens should vote.

It is an easy win and it would benefit them at the ballot box and it automatically puts the Democrats at a disadvantage. The segments that the Democrats can manipulate on the issue aren’t going to change and I see the issue as one that could crack up the Democrat black coalition which is becoming increasingly strained because blacks rightly see a threat to their political power with the growing illegal alien populations with more money being funneling into bilingual education and special classes for illegal immigrants. Also school districts are being designed to offload illegal immigrants and the poor into schools away from the more affluent.

Illegal aliens and homosexuality are two issues that could be used to permanently change the political landscape in relationship to black minorities. I’d make sure every mailbox in black communities received the latest literature promoting homosexual clubs in their schools. You don’t have to make anything up. Just make sure that black churches receive packages of DNC talking points on gay rights and illegal aliens. Just put it right up in their faces with flyer’s from planned parenthood encouraging little black girls to get abortions. I’ve never understood why Republicans are so uncomfortable with blacks who are in some ways more conservative than they on social issues.

I know, I know, Republicans don’t play that way but they sure as hell lose by letting Democrats play masquerade on these issues. It is an embarrassment that Democrats have achieved parity or dominance in the mind of the general public even on many traditionally conservative issues.

so now we know why NY state is trying to attract illegal aliens.

Illegals should NOT be counted to congressional districts.

In fact I thought they were specifically excluded last time.

The GOP is uncomfortable with conservatives, period.

U.S. Constitution, Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

American politicians, American judges and American greedheads.

For all the rage against the illegal aliens themselves, will we ever ask ourselves who really benefits from all of this?

And what will we do if we answer ourselves honestly?

“If they are undocumented, how does anybody prove that they are actually there? And, just who is in charge of providing the official count of people who aren’t there?”

There’ve been many posts since your #6, so this might have been answered. But census forms do not ask citizenship, or make any attempt to determine if an individual is legal or illegal.

The census promises that the information obtained will be shared with no other agency (not immigration, or IRS, or others). This is done to get maximum cooperation since more than a few people in the US might have reason to fear certain government agencies having information about them.

Of course, this policy allows illegals to be counted like actual citizens, and they count toward congressional representation and figure in for dividing revenue for various government programs.

I doubt the policy will change, because they think promising no disclosure of information to other agencies is necessary to get the most participation in the census.

Illegals do count on the census in some cases.

Our current number of 300 million+ will have to readjusted with the 2010 census, correcting the rather wide margin of error that we're working with.

Travis, if you're a football fan, you've seen the NFL Latino commercials. This is nothing short of a full-scale invasion, and perhaps one that is more pervasive than any formal military operation. In other words, this is more like Soviet infiltration than a uniform invasion of one's enemy. The difference is that historically the invaders have faced some sort of resistance--notwithstanding the late Roman Empire--and we have offered little to nothing.

Am I right?

Here’s the short form used for the 2000 census:

http://www.census.gov/dmd/www/pdf/d61a.pdf

There were no questions about citizenship, or status in this country. If any adjustments were made to add or subtract a category of people, it’d be done by statistical methods to the total numbers after they’d been tallied.

There was some debate during 2000 where the Dhimms wanted to add to the official count, and I think it was to add for illegal aliens who hid from or avoided being counted out of fear the census data might be given to immigration officials, though it isn’t in reality.

There has been a certain dimunition of standards in the U.S. census recording over the years, to be sure. If you're a professional or amateur genealogist, you'll understand how these records have changed since, say, 1880, where one had to list the country of birth for both parents--and their own, I might add. It was assumed that respondents were naturalized American citizens.

The category of citizenship is a blurry area in official census recording these days, because just how do the census takers classify resident aliens in contrast to illegal aliens?

Yep. As I understand it, they use the census for a lot of tax allocations, service allocation, etc. Cities and communities get more money for schools, fire/police, depending on population.

The sacred cows of the Left and open border lobbyists are really cash cows. To quote an old hip-hop line, "It's all about the money, ain't a damn thing funny..."

There are NO questions about citizenship, legal status, or anything except Name, Age, Sex, Ehtnicity, and how each person is related to the head of household, etc., as the form I linked will show.

Fair enough. If you can count them, you can deport them.

No, not anymore. As I said in an earlier post, the census records used to assume that each respondent was a naturalized American citizen, going back to the first one in 1790. Later, more categories were added, including country of origin and the like.

You have to remember, this is the U.S. Federal government we're talking about.
