Thanks for bringing up this important point. Many people do not know how to recognize a diabetic with low blood sugar. They will most likely think that they are drunk.

It could be a dangerous situation and the diabetic could die.

One of my cousins is diabetic and I’ve been with her several times when she had an insulin reaction or low blood sugar and she or I was lucky that I knew how to deal with it. I know how to test her BSL or get her to a clinic or get her some carbs or glucose tabs to get her levels back up to a safe level.

People should know that diabetics with a low blood sugar level can appear drunk and become very uncooperative, stubborn or beligerent. They also can’t think straight under these conditions.

It’s been more a question of individual pharmacists, not individual pharmacies. You might pick up a “code phrase” in a pharmacy ad (”SonRise Pharmacy” etc) but otherwise you wouldn't know from ads. It’d have to be individual networking: church groups, etc. The individual pharmacists you've heard about have been working for large companies and have gotten into trouble for refusing to fill prescriptions.
