Iraq:Coalition Engaged Terrorists, Baqubah (Media Report 25 Individuals Killed Civilians Not True)

Statement from Multi-National Force – Iraq: Coalition forces engaged terrorists near Baqubah

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Media have been reporting that the 25 individuals killed in an operation early Friday morning at a location near Baqubah were innocent civilians. This is not true. During an operation to locate a Special Groups leader believed to be associated with members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps – Quds Force, ground forces came under heavy fire from a large number of individuals. Air support was requested to suppress the threat, resulting in 25 terrorists killed.

In this instance, we have confirmed that the 25 criminals who were killed were responsible for the attack on our forces and in fact were members of an extremist group operating in the Baqubah region.

Coalition forces respond to unprovoked attacks in self-defense, taking all possible measures to preclude the loss of innocent civilian lives.

Democrat Majority Press Spreads Rumors On Friday.

They could have got the truth early yesterday and been factual in their reporting. I had remembered this article from early yesterday, heard the CBS "News" version during the day, and became disgusted having to read the statement from todays article.

Friday's article the Democrat Majority Press lies about;

Coalition forces target Special Groups member, kill 25 terrorists Friday, 05 October 2007

http://www.mnf-iraq.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14431&Itemid=21

"The armed group continued to engage, and began to aggressively maneuver toward Coalition forces, firing assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades. The ground force also observed one armed individual carrying what appeared to be an anti-aircraft weapon into a nearby building. Perceiving hostile intent, supporting aircraft engaged, killing an estimated 25 criminals and destroying two buildings."

Does MoveOn.org have its own media relations office that puts out these press releases?

They contract it out to CBS News,

U.S. Air Strikes In Iraq Kill At Least 25

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/10/05/iraq/main3333454.shtml

In the pre-dawn raid Friday, U.S. aircraft repeatedly bombed the neighborhood in Khalis, a Shiite enclave about 50 miles north of Baghdad, according to an Iraqi army official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information. At least 24 were killed, 28 were injured, most of whom were in critical condition, and several others were missing, he said.

He said civilians were killed when they rushed out to help those hurt in the initial bombing.

The U.S. military said it had no reports that any Iraqi civilians were killed as a result of the Friday operation.

I guess the lesson here is don't rush out to help terrorists after they have been bombed.

The interesting thing about this story was that I heard it while driving all day. Fox news played it with all the obvious propaganda spin. As I listened to it I thought, women and children will be hurt the most.

Then I happened to hear it a couple of hours later on a PBS station. They played it straight without the propaganda spin. I thought that’s very strange.

Now that the war in Iraq is going well, the MSM is changing its mantra to “torture” and unnecessary civiliian deaths in Iraq. Slowly (drop by drop) the MSM is sucking the lifeblood out of war on terror and the GOP.

Whose dumb enough to ‘rush out’ while this is going on, and Air support was suppressing the threat? Our Troops who are always giving medical attention, why not ask them if civilians were killed? Facts might not support what the Democrat Majority Press want Americans to think happen, especially if they can release it on a Friday afternoon.

“U.S. aircraft repeatedly bombed the neighborhood in Khalis”

If you want to see U.S. aircraft repeatedly bombing an entire neighborhood (consisting of one blue van), you can see it here.

The left and the Press believe every “Anonymous source” as long as it fits their anti-US template. And they wonder why they are less repected than the White House.

Every time the media starts to see the tide turning they resort to the “US targeting civilians” number and they find their “source” to “verify” the claim.

Buying and selling, too bad the Troops have to allow this trashy un-respectable bunch work among them.
