“Actually, it was the levees that were designed, constructed and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that failed and flooded New Orleans.
If the Corps had done their job correctly, the levees would have withstood Katrina.
In the end, Katrina was not a natural disaster but rather a manmade disaster caused by the Federal Government.”
This can’t be repeated enough.

He needs to go visit the cell where his enemies kept him locked up for a couple weeks.

It’s good to be a communist in a capitalist country — there’s actually some wealth to redistribute.

...a manmade disaster caused by the Federal Government.I remember something about an Orleans Levee Board that was responsible for maintenance of the levees. Didn't they spend a lot of taxpayers' money doing nothing? Weren't they abolished after Katrina for their misconduct? Maybe they had a part, along with the "Federal Government," in the levee failure.

Why isn’t the FBI interrogating Gorby to discover his intentions. Is his plan to foment a violent, armed overthrow of the United States? His words could be taken that way.

CNN reported this in typical, Gorbasm fashion. The 77 yearold commie also managed to proclaim that Putin was the only thing saving Russia from its own destruction.

has this hypocrite taken a nice 2 hour walking tour of Chernobyl lately? Or any of the cities that are completely black with soot due to zero pollution controls? How about those nuclear reactor cores that you've been dumping in the ocean, Mother Russia? Bunch of skiffy communist turds.

I read a book by Gorbie, decades ago. He was clear, he did not reject communism. All that ever changed was tactics.

(THE SECOND AMENDMENT, A MATTER OF FACT, NOT A MATTER OF OPINION)
To: FreePaul; Mila
While the levee boards were responsible for a portion of the maintenance of the levees, it was the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that designed and built a flawed levee. In fact, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has admitted that it was because of their design flaw that the levees failed.

In addition, much of the flooding of New Orleans East and St.Bernard was caused by the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet Canal (Mr. GO).
When Mr. Go was proposed in 1965 it was opposed by the City of Orleans, Orleans Parish, St. Bernard Parish and the State of Louisiana. However, the Federal Government being what it is forced MR. GO on the area and it was build.
Since Mr. GO was build there has been significant erosion and once again the US Army Corps of Engineers Levees were not designed correctly thus causing major levee failure.
Finally, the vast majority of the wetlands erosion in S. Louisiana was due to the construction of 40,000 miles of pipeline canals in the wetlands. Without these wetlands New Orleans and S. Louisiana are not protected from storm surge as they once were.
The flooding of NOLA was a manmade disaster, not a natural disaster.
To: trumandogz
You’ve made a good case. Maybe the federal government, and all of us taxpayers, should let Louisiana and New Orleans take care of their own problems. After all, they have done such a good job on everything else.

The 77 yearold commie also managed to proclaim that Putin was the only thing saving Russia from its own destruction. Prominent Russian exiles probably feeled obligated to say nonsense like this, the alternative being a polonium enema.
