I would need to know your definition of “mass immigration”. I don’t think there has been 120 years of mass immigration. We currently have 1,000,000 people immigrate here each year not counting the 25 million illegals who are already here and those who continue to come.
One million people a year, now that’s mass immigration and the US has never seen numbers even close to that in the past. Until people understand legal and illegal immigration can be equally damaging to the US then we will continue to head down the path of collapse. One million is too many and it cannot be sustained and never should have been allowed in the beginning.
You may not see it now, but in 20 years you will see it very clearly. It will be too late then and you will be part of a third-world cesspool with an already strained infrastructure, hospitals closing at alarming rates and overcrowded schools and prisons. If you want to know your future; Take a good, long look at California and decide if that’s where you want to be. Because, that’s where we’re headed.
RON PAUL INTERVIEW WITH THE RETARD (live thread)
As the only person who is brave enough, or patient enough to listen to this, I’ll give you my unbiased take.
So far the questions are about general campaign issues...Ron Paul says that his campaign is funded by individuals and not special interest groups and he is surprised by his support.
Moonbat host says Vegas thinks he can win. And they have money on it.
Grassroots myspace and facebook polling says he is leading but polls don’t show it.
Paul says everyone R or D are disgusted.
Moonbat says Vegas thinks Ron Paul can beat Hillary.
Paul laments that big tent folks are closing the primary registration early. But it’s not just him.
Moonbat: Is the Republican party panicked about your candidacy.
Paul: They are concerned, not panicked.
Oh jeez, moonbat says that “we are your base here”. Paul doesn’t disagree. I don’t know who “we” is.
Gold standard and monetary system debate that nobody except an Econ geek like me cares about.
If Bush is foolish enough to bomb Iran, oil will go to $200/barrell.
No solid currency we don’t know how this will turn out. Worldwide crisis. People who own things as opposed to dollars will be better off.
Fear of another 9/11, Government will use it as an excuse to steal more liberty.
Thank you Congressman.
That’s it.
Nothing about 9/11 alien conspiracy theories.
I deserve some love for sitting through the whole thing. I’m going to go take a shower.
I still admire Ron Paul, but I deserve a Purple Heart for listening to the rest of the host’s inane ramblings.
So, if Paul were to speak at a Klan rally after telling a couple of reporters that he likes Black folks just fine, would that be OK with you? You know, if he said sometime during the speech, "you guys are wrong about Blacks and Catholics, they're OK folks"? I mean, he sure would reach a lot of people with his message when the media covered the speech.
So...OK with you, right?
You are listening to Alex "Father of the 9/11 Truther movement" Jones on an nfowars (Marines taking people to concentration camps! Martial law in 77 Texas counties!") streaming feed, and he says "we are your base" and you don't know who "we" is? You're either lying or stupid.
If that was the case, he'd go on Glen Beck. Since it's not, he didn't. He wants an ally behind the mic when he's on the radio, apparently. Not any tough questions.
More importantly, why did Ron Paul appear in Jones' video "Matrix of Evil"? That's sort of like if you appeared in a Hillary Clinton ad hyping her health plan, isn't it?
I admire any public serpent who is willing and ready to debate anyone, anywhere at anytime.
It doesn’t mean their ideas and philosophy are right, but you have to admire their guts. Klan meeting, values voters debate, PTA meeting, Hells Angels, Water Buffalo Convention...if you believe in yourself and your message you should be willing to talk to anyone who invites you to speak.
I’ve never heard of the “Matrix of Evil”. I guess you learn something new everyday, that’s why I’m here to listen to others.
BTW, that Hillary video/Sopranos spinoff with Journey playing in the background...that was me starring as the shady looking character who walked into the diner:-)
Like Glen Beck?
Well, I don’t lie so I guess I’ll go with option B.
I’m as dumb as a rock.
Or Rush Limbaugh. He actually has the confidence to take any call from a leftist and discredit their argument logically without hanging up on them and resorting to ad hominem attacks.
Please allow me to explain my take on Ron Paul once and for all...
My thinking is very nuanced when it comes to Paul and I don’t take his GOP candidacy at face value.
He has about as much chance of winning the GOP nomination as John Edwards does.
He will run as a third party Libertarian candidate despite his denials and is using his face time in the GOP debates to gain exposure. (If he doesn’t and actually thinks he can win the GOP nomination, than he is nuttier than people here think he is)
He will be be the best thing that ever happened to the GOP since Reagan for three reasons:
1. He will siphon left wing anti war votes from Hillary since he is even more Dovish than she is. She won’t commit to withdrawing troops. Ron Paul says he will withdraw troops from every foreign base the day after he is elected.
2. The currently “leftist” young supporters will hear his message of limited government and it will stick with them for life
3. The Big Government GOP candidates who want his constituency to vote for them will have to pay attention and cater to libertarian members of the base for a change and stop spending money like drunken sailors on shore leave trying to buy power and be all things to all people.
Good comparison Mr. S. Without going further downthread I'd have to say Traviskicks' answer would be "no problem". His stance has been that Ron Paul goes where he's welcome. Thus the KKK would be available to him.
Am I right, Travis?
One is known by the associations he keeps. Ron Paul is obviously comfortable with his Alex Jones association. If he weren't he wouldn't go back to the well. And any attempt to pass it off as just 'going where one gets attention' is stupid, naive spin.
Start here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1876829/posts. Jump off from there. Michele Malkin has more including a video (not necessarily at this link) of Ron Paul agreeing with a Truther to work with Dennis Kucinich to further investigations into 9/11. Do the research.
Public serpent. That's ironically beautiful. Most would call Ron Paul a public servant, but IMO 'serpent' is far more fitting. I think most of us agree; he's a real snake in the grass. Thanks for the insight :)
Eric, you THINK you have this phenomenon figured out and put in its political place, so to speak.
That’s YOU. Things won’t work out that way in real life when you factor in the nutcases. Trust me.
I agree with two things you averred. Yes, he could siphon votes from Hillary. Yes, Paul knows he won’t get the GOP nomination. I’m not certain he plans to run as a Libertarian or Independent, but it’s possible. However, he might just be trying to get more famous and make tons of money on the lecture circuit and writing books, and he might just like all the money and adulation and sticking it to the political establishment. Wait and see.
In real life, the “young leftists” who support him for his blame America let’s get out of everywhere around the world foreign policy will NOT become limited government libertarians because of it. Take that to the bank. It doesn’t work that way. They want power, in an anarchists sort of way. They are so freakin’ weird and messed up there’s no way to rationalize their politics domestically any more than foreign and military policy wise.
Oh yeah, fire the staffer because Paul couldn't possible say to his staff, "Don't schedule me for that show again! It makes me look like a wackadoddle when I go on there!" Paul continues to go on that show because wackadoodles like to flock together.
Pandering to the insane is apparently a dream market: a demographic with discretionary income and no discretion.
1. Nobody ever went broke by overestimating the gullibility of the American public.
2. What's the difference between RuPaul and Ron Paul?
The first is a black man wearing a blond wig and pretends to be a woman, the second is a white man who wearing a suit and pretends to be a Republican.
Doesn’t Alex Jones report about chemtrails and the coming civilian concentration camps? Alien abductions? There’s a fine middle-of-the-road forum.
