It shouldn't surprise, given the state of the law, our courts and our politicians, and, in fact, it actually makes sense, but still, it's a bit disconcerting.
The Supreme Court of the State of Washington ruled today in a 5-4 decision that candidates for political office have a constitutionally protected right to be free from prosecution for lying in their pursuit of office.
It is sobering to consider the responsibilities that courts have taken from the shoulders of common men and women and to contrast them with those that remain, including the duty on the part of each individual to provide protection against politicians who lie, given that government cannot be charged with that duty.
So much for the Supreme Court of Washington State. Like an ugly cancer on the nose of a beautiful woman!
May God have mercy on us all!
Washington is also the state where the Governor, the state AG and every member of the state supreme court claim the separation of powers doctrine bars the prosecution of judges who commit crimes.
Easily the most corrupt state SC in the country.
Carried to it’s logical extreme.....a politician can, once elected and sworn in, proclaim his OATH of OFFICE was a lie and that he/she does NOT owe allegiance to the United States but rather.....say Allah or Iran or even Al Qaeda.
No suprise, unfortunately. In a state where election fraud is as common as rainfall it is just another verification of the accepted corruption that runs rampant throughout the state.
From your lips to God’s ears.....
Well gee, we already figured that one out.
It’s on daily display.
Washington state - a proven organized, legalized crime syndicate.
I dunno, SCOFLA gives the WASC a real run for its money.
You don’y know what I know. The WA SC is far worse. SCOFLA are amatuers in comparison.
I do not know about the rest of you, but I actually expect politicians to lie to me!
I sure wish you could delete this post as my poop curdles every time I read the title. Excuse me while I make my way to the throne room.
