Jeesh, pissant. I know that Sen. Thompson has some dirt, but don’t you think this slip-up may be a bit picky?

John Roberts is a wonderful Chief Justice, an intelligent thoughtful man and a great American. His continued success on the SCOTUS just reminds me what complete and under moronic dunderheads Biden and Shumer were during his confirmation.

For some here, nothing concerning Fred is too picky.

NATIONAL REVIEW; "Waiting on Fred" Aug 27 2007 The Supreme Court, and judicial issues in general, are Thompson's strong suit. Not only does he have the background-the Watergate investigation, the Senate Judiciary Committee, private practice, and the job of guiding John Roberts through his confirmation hearings-he also knows the conservative legal stars who would likely be candidates for the Court in coming years. But he won't name names, beyond the men already there, "I like Roberts and Alito and Scalia and Thomas" he tells me. "We're in a heck of a lot better shape because of Roberts and Alito, and one more gain would put us in even better shape." Should he become president, Thompson would undoubtedly try to nominate that elusive fifth conservative. ============================================================

Pissant is bound and determined that Thompson should fail and DH should be the nominee no matter how much trashing he must do to see that it happens.
His quixotic quest shall not be encumbered by the fact that Hunter currently musters less than 2% of the vote and is likely at his high point.
Polls be damned full speed ahead and let the mud fly, it’s my guy or die!
PFFFFFT.

I don’t know. Anybody that has seen my posts knows that I have been pushing for Thompson, but I am starting to see more and more of these Bush style errors the more I hear him. For instance, in another, recent speech he repeatedly referred to Russia and China as “the Soviet Union and China”.
And, what about the constant reports from even the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal that claim he’s super boring during speeches and even had to request for a round of applause at the end of one his speeches?
Here’s my request for advice: Who do we support if Thompson is going to be another Bush (inarticulate and unable to sell his vision of America) and Giuliani is like voting for John Edwards? The others seem unwinnable and Mitt Romney is a liberal in sheep's clothing. I’m almost sold on Ron Paul while “holding my nose”.

How’s this for a bargain. You get your moderate nominated over Hunter and I’ll vote for him.

Bill Frist was a Republican, who knew — I thought Schumer was running things, filibustering judges and all that.
Last time I looked Frist wimped out on taking down the filibuster on judicial nominees, deferring to the Democrats. If it weren’t for the blogs and talk radio, Roberts would likely not be on the court as chief justice. The RINOs would have seen to that.
I have no doubt Fred had to spend most of his time lobbying Democrats to get Roberts approved.

For those with short memories, the Democrats controlled the Senate, as the Minority, through the use of the filibuster-lite technique of not allowing a vote on nominees.

A very slight slip of the tongue. He was obviously referring to the dominance the Dems had over court nominations because of their propensity to filibuster Bush’s court nominees.
