Salvation is a thing that is worked out on one’s knees in prayer and in repentence

Salvation...according to my bible...isn't anyway, shape or form...something that is "worked out".

Mormonism adherents at FR have tried to cite Philippians 2:12 to support their belief in 'after all that they can do Grace sets in and salvation can be had'.

Philippians 2:12&13

So that, my beloved, as ye always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, with fear and trembling your own salvation work out,

for God it is who is working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (Young’s Literal Translation)

This is not to be read as the believer is doing his own salvation. Notice that the passage says ‘for it is God IN YOU’ working, thus the presence of the God of the Creation of this universe is in you to will and to do the saving. The other key is what Paul implies with ‘not as in my presence only’ … they would fear his wrath if he were present among them and they failed to submit their wills to God’s transforming. If they would have proper fear with Paul there, they need to realize that GOD is there, within them! Thus Paul calls us to have the proper fear of the Lord that is warranted, such that we maintain our will bowing to Him within you, to transform as you submit the flesh for daily crucifixion of the adam nature.

So you don’t believe in Christ’s doctrine of repentence? Maybe you don’t read the same Bible as I do. I use the King James version. Perhaps you don’t like the concept of prayer? The Lord Jesus Christ taught us the true order of prayer. He prayed often and constantly to His Father in Heaven. Did you miss that part? Did you miss any of the instructions to emulate Christ?
