A Mormon in the Oval Office?
Washington Post ^ | October 4, 2007 | Robert Novak

Posted on 10/04/2007 9:40:06 AM PDT by greyfoxx39

When Mitt Romney appeared last week (via closed circuit from California) before the Council of Retired Chief Executives meeting in Washington, he faced kindred souls: rich Republicans who had managed big enterprises. Yet the second question from the audience was whether Romney's Mormon faith was hurting his quest for the Republican presidential nomination. He replied that about the only people who brought up his religion were members of the media, an answer that simply is untrue.

Romney is asked about Mormonism wherever he goes. In my travels, I find his religious preference cited everywhere as the source of opposition to his candidacy. His response to the former chief executives that only reporters care about this issue sounded like a politician's tired evasion. Romney was either too obtuse to appreciate his problem or was stalling because he had not determined how to deal with it. Contact with his advisers indicates that it's the latter.

And how do his religious beliefs affect his ability to be President?

Did Jimmy Swaggert or Jim Baker (both very flawed men) marry more than ten wives of other men still alive and married to those women?... That’s the Mormon cue to claim ‘good Joe’ didn’t have sex with them, just married them ‘for all time and eternity’.

The stars ar ‘point up’ but the occult stars are ‘point down’ as a rejection of Christ’s suffering ‘points’. The down pointed stars of Mormonism are unlikely to be understood by average Mormons as derived from Masonic occultic images. But then, most Mormons are not allowed to know ‘all the deeper things’ of the cult. Try asking a Mormon why the baptismals in the Temples have cattle on them and from what those derive.

*********************

I confess I know little about the Mormon faith, and I have never known any Mormons. If most Mormons are not privy to the "deeper things", then how are they to be criticized for them?

I'm Catholic, and have experienced some animosity for that. I would hate to do the same to someone else. I support Fred Thompson, but not because of his religion. He's Protestant. :)

Sorry to disappoint your effort to divert: the more vital question is how does his religious belief system effect his ability to get elected by Christian conservatives?

If you lurk about this thread long enough, take your dramamine for the spin cycle ... the twisting of facts and spinning of LDS sources that will get posted will make you dizzy. Christians (Catholics and Protestants) believe the blood of Christ is the only way the spirit of a human can be cleansed and the Holy Spirit of God thus indwell the 'faither' in Christ. Mormons have a bit different belief system in that regard, including that they can be saved after all that they can do ... which includes fidelity to temple ordinances and such; modern-day judiazing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It will be very hard to have a President who wears “underwear” with a Pentagram on it to represent the evangelical Christians in America.

He'll have to change it to a pentagon, once he's sworn in as Commander in Chief.

Actually, while the underwear does bear some symbols, a pentagram is not among them. Have a look at John Safran's video on Magic Mormon Underwear. He actually managed to buy a set — they didn't think to check his ID because he was neatly dressed in a white shirt and black pants.

No, ole Jimmy just had sex with prostitutes and Jim swindled money. Thanks for clearing that up. So, what your implying is that Mormons actually married and took care of their multiple wives while Evangelicals just commit adultery and then cry crocodile tears when they are caught. Nice.

Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling

No Man Knows My History

Mormon Enigma - Emma Hale Smith

In Sacred Loneliness: The Plural Wives of Joseph Smith

and last but not least. Read the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. After reading the first four books, if those last two books don’t convince you of the lies of Mormonism, nothing will.

Happy reading!

Turn the flag upside down and you will see the “stars” that are depicted by the Mormons.

HERE I AM WITH PRESIDENT ROMNEY

Hear the Song

Hello Hillary, Hey Giuliani
Here I am with President Romney
How he won this was a riot
Newsweek caught you two in bathrobes at the Hyatt

Mitt says our land needs reformin'
'Cause it's not completely Mormon
So protesters must speak softly
And the War on Drugs now targets tea and coffee

For his talks with dignitaries
Mitt just sends the missionaries
And state dinners - gee, they're mellow
All the heads of state bring casserole and Jell-o

Heads on Rushmore - you would dig 'em
Mitt just sculpted Brother Brigham
And the anthem needed switchin'
So it's now "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission"

Oh my word
He got elected
Oh my gosh
How unexpected
'Cause he's quite
Distinctly male and white
Despite
His V.P. Gladys Knight

Oh my heck
The far right trounces
Mormon lives
So Mitt renounces
Plural wives
But deep down they're OK
As long as none are gay

Now I don't know where we're headin'
But it might be Armageddon
So you sinners better move it
'Cause we're in the latter days and Mitt will prove it

I must meet the Elders' Quorum
At the White House here in Orem
So I'll run now - this is awesome
We'll be swearing in Chief Justice Donny Osmond!

Wish they had the whole song up there still, sigh.

Here's a link to a video (long but worth it) that will fill you in to more than you ever wanted to know about Mormonism's scripture versus the Bible. [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1mFdO1wB08&mode=related&search= ]

"Christian conservative" is not defined as "evangelical bigot". You need to find a different title for your ilk.

My question to you was how do his beliefs affect his ability to be President. If you don't have an answer, just say so.

The inverted star is also associated with “The Morning Star”.

Wasn't Lucifer referred to as the Morning Star? Your ignorance is simply frightening.....

Where have I heard that before?

“How could you show me the lies without reading them? By asking your bishop? You brainwashed boob!”

This will be very difficult for you, but try to follow.

I live in California where one can bring in books from libraries all across the state by a Link+ system. If books can not be found in any of these libraries, you can be reasonably assured that they are either propaganda or hate literature. So if I can’t obtain the books through these libraries, they are probably not scholarly, objective books, and we can dismiss them. Besides that, In most books of the type you think have the “real scoop,” it takes about 1-3 pages to find the first lie. Now if you didn’t understand that, read it again slowly, Boob! Either give me the book titles or admit you have no idea what you are talking about.

Never heard any Christian I know refer to Jimmy as a “Prophet.” Or the only man on earth who can speak for God in all things.
