When Mitt Romney appeared last week (via closed circuit from California) before the Council of Retired Chief Executives meeting in Washington, he faced kindred souls: rich Republicans who had managed big enterprises. Yet the second question from the audience was whether Romney's Mormon faith was hurting his quest for the Republican presidential nomination. He replied that about the only people who brought up his religion were members of the media, an answer that simply is untrue.
Romney is asked about Mormonism wherever he goes. In my travels, I find his religious preference cited everywhere as the source of opposition to his candidacy. His response to the former chief executives that only reporters care about this issue sounded like a politician's tired evasion. Romney was either too obtuse to appreciate his problem or was stalling because he had not determined how to deal with it. Contact with his advisers indicates that it's the latter.

We had a Catholic and how many of other faiths? clintin certainly was no upstanding example and as we found out later...nor was JFKennedy. So, why NOT a Mormon????
So be it. I couldn't vote for a Mormon or any other candidate who wasn't an Evanglical or Catholic Christian. Call me what you want but that's the way it is.

When I first glanced at the title I thought it said “A Moron in the Oval Office?” I assumed it must be about Edwards but then I put on my glasses and realized it said “Mormon”.
Islam is a political system installed by a conquering warlord named Mohammed. It replaced the religions of old with a new world order of Islamic Law.
There is a concept of “Islamic territory” (as in prisoners seized in jihad must be taken to Islamic territory to be divided up as slaves).
I won’t vote for a Mormon for President. I think a single soul lost is more important than the entire country. We are charged with building the church, not tearing it down.
I’m still undecided but my wife, Catholic to the bone, is already convinced by Romney.
Mitt Romney has pretty much everything: brains, good looks, a beautiful family (his first and only), vast wealth (most of it earned), managerial ability (the Olympics, Massachusetts governor), and no hint of scandal. His Mormonism is not a big problem for me (I can see no ill effects from it in his way of life). Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be enough to seal the deal for the Presidency. And that’s too bad because I suspect that he would’ve done an excellent job.
Me too, but what does voting for a conservative person who happens to be Mormon have to do with that? Does that stop you from witnessing to people somehow?

It cuts both ways, you know. I was talking to a Mormon the other day who said if Romney is eliminated because he is a Mormon, he will never again vote for an Evangelical.
Pentagram??? Where the heck did you hear that? There are 4 symbols on the Mormon “garments”, and none them even remotely resemble a pentagram.

Ironically, I imagine the people asking that question are the one that want the 10 Commandments removed from the courthouse and "In God We Trust" removed from our currency.

Indeed. There are probably even a few Muslims out there that I’d prefer to have in the White House over Hillary.
