KABKABIYA, Sudan (AP) - Former President Carter got in a shouting match Wednesday with Sudanese security services who blocked him from a town in Darfur where he was trying to meet with refugees from the ongoing conflict. The 83-year-old Carter walked into this highly volatile pro-Sudanese government town to meet refugees too frightened to attend a scheduled meeting at a nearby compound. He was able to make it to a school where he met with one tribal representative and was preparing to go further into the town when Sudanese security officers stopped him.
"You can't go. It's not on the program!" the local security chief, who only gave his first name as Omar, yelled at Carter, who is in Darfur as part of a delegation of respected international figures known as "The Elders."
"We're going to anyway!" an angry Carter retorted as a crowd began to gather. "You don't have the power to stop me."

Carter's arrogance once again overwhelms any intellect he might ever have had: He's now the Durfur doofus!

He was suppose to meet the delegates the next day.
They did not come.
THEY’RE DEAD JIMMY!
What a twit!!!!
I used to live in Haiti. All it takes is one trigger-happy little thug, and you're a DEAD ex-president.
"Do you know who I am?" does not work in third-world countries, especially not volatile ones like the Sudan.
go home old man....go home.
While on his way to see the Wizard and possibly get a brain, Carter was stopped by the flying monkeys, cleverly disguised as Sudanese security officers
>>He must have a death wish, or he’s finally dropped over the edge into senile dementia.<<
I don’t know... I kind of admire him in these cases. I and to suffer through him being President - if he can help document the genocide and push a little to get something done I view that as a small payback for the rest of what we’ve put with from him... like the Israel book... that was really sad.
Well, he breathes air so I guess he's got to take his nose out of whatever leftist dictators ass once in a while. I just wish he wouldn't talk so much when he does.
Putrescent old Marxist fool.
” Former President Carter got in a shouting match”, I am calling the BS card.
Who has that BS meter?
I see an old man in his pajamas demanding the name of every teenager at a party, so that he can have a "stern talk" with their parents.....
QUIET DOWN! OK, now, your name is 'Hey-wood' what?
J, B, l, o... You kids put that beer down! What's that smoke I smell?
At heart, Jimmy always was a megalomaniac.
Jimmy believes he really is morally superior to other people, and it shows in everything he does.
M*E*G*L*O*M*A*N*I*A*C
HA!
^5!
He might have the power to do this in his precious and beloved Cuba or Venezuela, but not in Sudana. (Just had to end it in an âaâ to keep the rhythm)
Actually, I'd prefer that he stayed in another country ... any other country.
Typical leftie, arrogant to the last. All his crap about his setting an example for the little people and lowering thermostats and wearing sweaters and leaving our citizens hostage in Iran and on and on. He just wanted to he'p us little folk. His true feelings are out now (like we didn't know). I guess he couldn't stand watching all the celebrities (now that Clinton is out of office, because they ignored Sudan when he was in) soap box for Sudan when HE is the Nobel prize winner! The audacity!
They should have just wiggled a fake rabbit on a stick at Carter. Scared him off once before. What a maroon!!
