Yea...A real accurate poll. /S
A 400 person sample? And that number is comprised of a mixture of “self-identified” Republicans and GOP-leaning indepedents?
This poll ain’t worth crap in assessing the state of the race for the Republican nomination.
Nor have we seen a debate with just the frontrunner's.
Nor have we seen all of the candidates policy papers in full.
Well, now, gotta believe everything about this poll - after all, everyone knows what great support McCain enjoys within the party...
They'll keep up the "Clinton v. Giuliani is inevitable" thing right to the end.
The national polls mean little when it comes to a nomination, I think. It will all be decided by the early caucuses and primaries. Whoever wins in IA suddenly becomes a huge media star and gets tremendous momentum. As I recall most thought Howard Dean would be their candidate in ‘04. Then Kerry manages to get out more of his people in Iowa, where only a minuscule number of Democrats even voted, and all of a sudden he was the great Demo savior. I don’t think Dean had a chance after that. It will probably be the same deal in ‘08. Pretty bad way of electing a president, I think.
Post was of “Adults,” not even “Registered Voters” let alone “Likely Voters.”
Look at “Likely Voter” polls and Thompson leads Giuliani by 5 or 6.
“This poll aint worth crap in assessing the state of the race for the Republican nomination.”
Maybe that’s not the purpose.
Deflating Thompson and Romney while building up Guiliani is the MSM name of the game these days.
Any poll without Fred Thompson is crap according to many Fred Heads.

It is just that simple.

If you want the truth—Rasmussen has RG over Ft by 1 point today.
Oh my,
A statistical non-event percentage-wise, and only for one day.
Get back to us when he consistently is polling above the margin of error for a week or two.
Then you might have a point.
LLS
Yes, but you and your colleagues were claiming a 6% majority for FT: what happened in the lst week?

We all know Rasmussen is the most accurate (after all we have been hearing it for weeks), so let’s take a look at that one.
OH MY, he has Rudy in the lead also! Seems Freds surge may be over.

BTW... I think Washington Post poll is an outlier also, I think they are pretty much neck and neck at this point.
And what was the relative percentage of “self-identified Republican” compared to “GOP-leaning independents”?
