I'd planned to go on a boat trip with my brother on the Great Lakes but he'd warned me that I'd have to have my passport updated and on hand.....if we cruised into Canadian waters or visited ports. OK.....but there's a six month backlog.

So.....Kein Ausweis, kein ferien.
