NEW HAMPSHIRE, October 2, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - So far the leading Democratic presidential candidates seem to be in a mad race to outdo each other in a quest for the "gay" vote. In the most recent Democrat debate held on September 27th in New Hampshire, Clinton, Obama and Edwards once again catered to homosexual activists in responding to a question regarding pro-homosexual curriculum being introduced in public schools as early as the second grade.
The pivotal question focused on a homosexual "fairy-tale" that was read to a class of seven-year-olds in Massachusetts. The story, selected as reading for a class on marriage, told the story of a young prince who rejects the pressures of his family to find a bride and instead chooses to marry a fellow prince. The two men marry, kiss (complete with an image in the book) and, as typical in fairy tales, live happily ever after.
The presidential candidates were asked if they would object to their children being read such a story in school. All three leading contenders - Obama, Clinton and Edwards - have previously indicated that they fully support same-sex civil unions but stop short of endorsing full recognition of same-sex "marriage".
John Edwards first answered the debate question saying that he would definitely be fine with such reading material although he admitted that "it might be a little tough" for second graders. Edwards claims that he does not want his views to influence his children's views. "I want my children to be able to make that decision on behalf of themselves, and I want them to be exposed to all the information, even in - did you say second grade? Second grade might be a little tough, but even in second grade to be exposed to all those possibilities, because I don't want to impose my view. Nobody made me God."
Obama stated that his opinions were very much in line with those of former Senator Edwards' and said that his outspoken wife had already made his children "aware" of homosexuality. "One of the things I want to communicate to my children is not to be afraid of people who are different.
."
In true Clinton form, the New York Senator side-stepped a real answer to the question of whether she would be comfortable having the story read to her own children answering instead that it should be left to the individual judgment of the parents involved.
"Obviously, it is better to try to
help your children understand the many differences that are in the world.
And that goes far beyond sexual orientation. So I think that this issue of gays and lesbians and their rights will remain an important one in our country."
Ex-Massachusetts governor and current Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney issued a statement after the debate condemning the answers of all three Democratic candidates.
"Not one candidate was uncomfortable with young children learning about same-sex marriage in the second grade. This is a subject that should be left to parents, not public school teachers. We need to strengthen our families by passing a federal marriage amendment and also insisting on marriage before having children. Change in Washington requires Democrats with the courage to stand up to their ultra liberal base and do what's right for our children."
In a previous debate, the Democratic presidential candidates were grilled with only questions pertaining to "gay issues" such as gay "marriage", the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and the military "don't ask, don't tell" policy. As previously reported by LifeSiteNews.com, at that August debate, the participating candidates, even the guarded Senator Clinton, seemed intent on outdoing each other in the eyes of the largely gay audience in toeing the line of total homosexual orthodoxy, with the minor exception of the gay doctrine of same-sex "marriage".

Isn't that redundant?
John Edwards: “I don’t want to impose my view [on my own children]. Nobody made me God.”
Yet he wants to be President of the United States, and leader of the free world.
What kind of parent thinks it wrong to impart his moral values to his children??
Nobody made him God, and may nobody make him POTUS.
Liberalism is a fairy tale. And nobody lives happily ever after.
Can anyone imagine this being possible 10 years ago? 15 years ago?
The more we drag our feet on a Constitutional amendment, the worse this is going to get. Our society is falling in shambles around our feet...
50 years ago, such a book would be labeled as pornographic.
Folks are best off if they keep their young ones away from Osamabama and the Hildabeast, and probably that Richardson guy too.
He has that fat pudgy but clean-shaved look so beloved of a certain class of pedophile.
You are right, a couple generations ago the author and publisher of this filth would have been looking at prison time. If adults want to read this garbage, that is their decision, but to subject children to it is criminal.

It takes a village to raise a fairy
What will I do without Candace (Divine Design), Designed to Sell, Buy Me, What Not to Wear, or any of the house-flipping shows? :^O
*pout* *sigh*
"Because I don't want to impose my view nobody made me God I don't get to decide on behalf of my family and my children. I don't get to impose on them what it is that I believe is right."
By implication, he doesn't want to impose on his children what he believes is wrong.
Yet, society does this all the time in the form of laws.
He wants to be the chief executive? Yikes.
More like a village idiot.
Putting a child in public school is becoming a serious ethical problem.
It might become necessary for grandparents to put aside bonds for their grandchildren to obtain private schooling.
Lord knows the adult children will need help financially to do so.
One of the most important duties of a parent, and perhaps the single most important one, is to instill in their children a code of moral values.
In his role as a parent he doesn't want to impose what he believes is right on his children? WTH?
No, it should read...

My brothers and I went to private schools, luckily it wasn’t necessary for my family to make any financial sacrifices for this, but I went to school with many people whose families gladly drove older cars, didn’t take vacations, lived in smaller homes, etc. All the money in the world doesn’t matter if your children have to suffer for it.
He wants the state to impose what it believes, it's called communism.
Evidently.
What a revealing comment...I pity his kids if he actually leads his life in that manner.
