~ The FReeper Canteen Presents ~

What's Your Favorite College Football Team?

Welcome to the FReeper Canteen! It's great to have you with us!!
Thank you to all of our Troops, Veterans, and their families for allowing us to entertain you!

Your Opinions Please!

What is your favorite College Team?

USC Washington Football

Southern California quarterback John David Booty prepares to pass against Washington in the second half Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Seattle.

The Trojans (4-0, 2-0 Pac-10) committed three turnovers and 16 penalties -- their most in more than two seasons -- for 161 yards, plus had a missed a field goal and a blocked punt in a game played through a first-half drizzle. Yet they won for the 60th time in 64 games. USC won, 27-24. (AP Photo/Elaine Thompson)

LSU Tulane Football

LSU receiver Brandon LaFell can't get away from Tulane cornerback Josh Lumar in the first half of their football game in the Superdome in New Orleans Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007. LSU was called for holding in the end zone resulting in a safety on the play.

Tulane trailed only 10-9 at halftime and didn't fall more than one score behind until Hester's 1-yard touchdown run gave LSU a 20-9 lead with 5:53 remaining in the third quarter.

Oklahoma Colorado Football

Oklahoma wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias, bottom, dives to catch a pass as Colorado Benjamin Burney (42) defends during the fourth quarter at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007. The pass was ruled incomplete after review and Oklahoma lost their first down.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops envisioned it going down to the wire. Colorado's Dan Hawkins had a hunch his team would pull off the big upset.

Both coaches turned out to be correct and Hawkins' Buffaloes dealt a serious blow to the Sooners national title hopes when Kevin Eberhart kicked a career-long 45-yard field goal as time expired to send Colorado past No. 3 Oklahoma 27-24 on Saturday. (AP Photo/Jack Dempsey)

Auburn Florida Football

Auburn's Mario Fannin (27) goes throught the Florida line with Floridia's Major Wright (21), Jacques Rickerson (23) and Brandon Spikes (51) trying to stop him in 2nd half between Florida and Auburn in Gainesville, Fla. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007. Auburn defeated Florida, 20-17.

Wes Byrum's 43-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Tigers to a 20-17 victory over No. 4 Florida on Saturday night and gave them one of the biggest upsets on a day filled with them.(AP Photo/Phil Sandlin)

West Virginia South Florida Football

South Florida quarterback Matt Grothe (8) eludes a hit by West Virginia's Charles Pugh (15) during the second quarter Friday night Sept. 28, 2007, in Tampa, Fla. Grothe eventually threw a touchdown pass on the play.

Grothe scrambled to avoid a sack before throwing a 55-yard touchdown pass to Carlton Mitchell, and Ben Moffitt returned one of his two interceptions 26 yards for a TD to lead a stellar defensive performance in the Big East opener. (AP Photo/Steve Nesius)

Kansas St Texas Football

Kansas State defensive end Ian Campbell, right, runs toward the goal line after intercepting a pass from Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and running it back 41 yards for the score during second quarter action Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Austin, Texas.

Kansas State scored three touchdowns on special teams and an interception, and the Wildcats stunned the No. 7 Longhorns 41-21, handing Texas coach Mack Brown his worst home defeat in 10 years. (AP Photo/Harry Cabluck)

Ohio St Minnesota Football

Ohio State's Kurt Coleman, left, and James Laurinaitis, right, bring down Minnesota running back Duane Bennett for a loss in the third quarter Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Minneapolis.

Ohio State turned in another well-rounded victory, staying unbeaten while several other top-ranked teams couldn't.
Chris Wells rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, and the Ohio State defense didn't budge. (AP Photo/Jim Mone)

Lost on a rainy night, a nun stumbles across a monastery and requests shelter there.

Fortunately, she’s just in time for dinner and is treated to the best fish and chips she’s ever had. After dinner, she goes into the kitchen to thank the chefs.

She is met by two of the brothers. “Hello, I’m Brother Michael, and this is Brother Charles.”

“I’m very pleased to meet you. I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful dinner. The fish and chips were the best I’ve ever tasted. Out of curiosity, who cooked what?”

Brother Charles replied, “Well, I’m the fish friar.”

She turns the other brother and says, “Then you must be...?”

“Yes, indeed, I’m the chip monk.”

California vintners in the Napa Valley area, which primarily produce Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines, have developed a new hybrid grape that acts as an anti-diuretic.

It is expected to reduce the number of trips older people have to make

to the bathroom during the night.

The new wine will be marketed as...

“Note: Please don’t misconstrue my 14 jobs as ‘job-hopping’. I have never quit a job.”

I am always surprised that so many people don't think before they write.

“The company made me a scapegoat - just like my three previous employers.”

I've heard this one before... I love these. Thanks.

In 1936, the argument was made that Slippery
Rock's football team ought to have been ranked #1 in the
country ahead of Pitt and Minnesota.

The announcement of Slippery Rock's football scores is a tradition at University of Michigan football
games. The tradition was started in the 1950s by Michigan Stadium's public address announcer. Slippery
Rock was so popular with UM fans that on Sept. 29, 1979, Slippery Rock played Shippensburg in an NCAA Division II game
at Michigan Stadium, setting the record for attendance at a Div. II football game (61,143).
