Why are the male/female ratios of Nobel Prize recipients in Physics, Chemistry, and Physiology/Medicine so lopsided? There must be a lot of countries where rampant sexism is holding back the female Einsteins and female Feynmans. (Of course that is true in the Muslim countries, but most of the Nobel Prize winners in the hard sciences are from the US, Europe, Japan, Canada, or Australia.)
Our daughter earned 3 undergrad degrees in four years and now, she’s a candidate for a PhD in Genetics. She’s worked her butt off for all of it and never expected to do anything less.

As I recall, Larry Summers merely voiced a speculative contributing cause for the much lamented disparity in numbers of women vs. men in certain professions. He did not offer a statement of alleged fact, or even that what he said was his personal conviction. The reaction by the radical feminist thought police and their spineless lackeys to his words demonstrated clearly their willingness to punish prohibitively public expression of certain thoughts.
