Careful - the last time I made even milder accusations about TSA here on FR, I got flamed...

"Excited Delirium" is irreversable and fatal. Probably responsible for dozens of in-custody deaths every year. There is nothing the copper or medic can do to change the outcome. As real shame, because the families want answers, the LEOs get put through hell, and the only thing really to blame is a massive OD of adreneline.

What did she actually do?

She complained at an airline counter. They used to just ignore people like that. Now I guess they can drag you to a secret room and execute you.

I think I'll just drive from now on.

I’d bet good money that those doing the flaming are just TSA employees trying to protect their fat lazy jobs. I know they are fat lazy jobs because they are federal jobs. Just say “Federal job”. “Fat, lazy Federal Job” is a redundancy. Like “stupid liberal”.

Never mind that the FR is supposed to be a conservative website. It appears to be dominated now by people who are entirely believers in govt solutions to everything. I don’t post much any more because I got tired of arguing with neo-cons who want govt govt govt govt....... always for some special reason THEIR personal desire needs to be addressed at the Federal level with billions of dollars.

What?

You actually expect the TSA to go after ME looking folks who may be sympathetic to the jihadist cause? You actually expect the airport "security" guards to do what any halfwitted inbred would instinctively know is right?

How very silly of you. We all know that White folks are the real troublemakers in the world.

Pshaw! How naive!

Yeah, but, how do you drive to Europe?

I've often asked liberals to drive a caravan full of their species back to Europe, home of Marx, the little general and Hitler.

They usually look back with a stupid induced, blank stare.

Fortunately, not all foreign airlines suck as badly as our domestic ones do. Some of them ARE just as bad as ours (British Air and Ryanair are particularly foul examples), but if you choose carefully it is possible to find actual service when you fly overseas.

I’m betting it wasn’t a “cell” with bars- more like a room with a locked door. Just a place to hold someone until a squad car could pick her up and take her to jail. Her family is being very quiet about the whole thing, so I’m guessing she either had major mental or drug issues.

Why I left NYC and moved back to the South after three years there...sounds like this extremely irate running up and down the gate area screaming lady brought it on herself, nothing to do with TSA screening. When you are at the gate area, you are past the TSA and security guards get called only for extreme disturbances. What did she want them to do - have the plane taxi back to pick her up?

My experiences with KLM and Swissair have been satisfactory. I have booked a flight on Lufthansa for November, I have never flown with them before.

The vast majority of TSA people that I know and work with are former military

Not the ones I see in NY, I can tell you that....

You were right. It just came out today that she was on her way to an alcohol rehab center. Poor woman. I wonder why no one in her family went along to escort her.

Lufthansa is a good choice. You shouldn't have a problem.

I'm glad to hear it. KLM was cheaper, but the itinerary would have put another 18 hours on our travel.

The last KLM flight I took, we had a 12 hour layover in Amsterdam, which wasn't bad as I booked a nice hotel.

We have an 8 hour layover in Frankfurt, it's during the day, so I hope to get out of the airport and do some sightseeing before our connecting flight to the U.S.
