Who the heck buys frozen ground beef, and why? I’m honestly curious.

Those are usually pre-formed patties and many buy them for the convenience.

Who the heck buys frozen ground beef, and why? Im honestly curious. Mostly it's pre-made patties. In a busy household with people eating at different hours, it's easy to throw one burger on the grill and make a quick meal.

Frozen patties are commonly used in some non-chain fast food and bar restaurants.

You are kidding right? The list is too lengthy.

Who the heck buys frozen ground beef, and why? Im honestly curious. I buy frozen 1/3lb burger patties that contain 20% vidalia onion. They're really good and super convenient for a quick burger on the grill. Don't have to keep fresh ground beef around or thaw a frozen package.

I never bought frozen, preformed patties, but earlier this year I stopped buying ground beef from the supermarket and bought a grinder attachment for my KitchenAid. Now I just buy a chuck roast and grind it up at home for burgers or meatloaf.

Marriott Hotels for their restaurants. It is a firing offense to buy non frozen hamburger from someone other than the hotel’s source. It turns out that Mr Marriott likes rare burgers, so all hotels must purchase prefrozen ground beef that has been tested for e-coli.
