IMO, Newt would be smart not to run.

The way he was talking, he said specifically if they could not raise this much money for him, he would not run. He outright said the odds of raising the money was very slim, and thus would likely not run.

He really has not been pushing things very much at all.

His book tour two years ago cooresponded exactly with the primary states. His speeches were designed to gain him a positive viewpoint among the GOP base.

In the end, its not ‘he’s decided not to run’ the reality is he just ‘dropped out’.

Its a curious political season, what was ‘normal’ in this sort of thing was thrown out the window...maybe just for this cycle, maybe its the new ‘norm’.
