In my simple mind we don’t even need to go that far. Our existing law already provides that we don’t have to give citizenship to those born her who are not subject to US jurisdiction. From the 14th Amendment - “persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.” Illegal aliens are not subject to our jurisdiction, therefore their children born here are not citizens. IANAL of course, and I am sure that many parties with interests other than those of the citizens of the United States would work very hard to find a way to prevent such a legal interpretation. They are not just wrong to do so, but traitorous IMAO.

You make excellent argument against birthright citizenship. Every day the Mexican consulates are liaising with their illegal aliens ion the United States. They are also handing out Matricula Consular ID cards which further prove that these slimy consular offices treat illegal and legal Mexicans as though they are under Mexican jurisdiction. At the very least the consulates are behaving as if illegal Mexicans are under US jurisdiction and Mexican jurisdiction. A shared nationality

I know someone who wants to become a naturalized citizen. It took 6 months to get her visa attachment and 6 months longer for her green card. Her work sponsor needed her ASAP. And it's 3 years now that she's waiting to become naturalized. She hired a lawyer for $3000 to run the paperwork around for the visa/green card hassle. And retains the same lawyer for the citizenship imbroglio.
If Condi Rice wants to become the football comissioner, she can walk through the State Dept. and fire everybody that's fat, lazy and stupid for football credentials. And visit all these Federal Buildings to see if they got the message.

I do. There are places called barrios where violent gangs run the show. Exactly like in Mexico, El Salvador, Brazil, etc. Don't stop for anything if you must drive through. And don't make eye contact with anyone. Ask any cop about the terrain off-the-record if you must go there.
Other postings and articles here at FR have indicated that the Supreme Court decision of 100 years ago was in reference to the children LEGAL immigrants.
Apparently, IF this is true, then the Supreme Court has not yet ruled on a case that involved the children of ILLEGAL immigrants.
Unless there is some OTHER case, other than this 100 year old decision???
