Congressional Ratings: 2% Excellent 13% Good
Rasmussen reports ^ | September 28, 2007 | Rasmussen

Fifteen percent (15%) of voters believe that Congress is doing an excellent (2%) or a good (13%) job. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 49% say the nation’s legislature is doing a poor job. In between are 34% who say that Congress is doing a fair job.

These figures are down a couple of points from last month and virtually identical to the perceptions of Congress on Election Day 2006.

If you ask me (and I know you didn’t), I’d say that it be the
demoncraps what be headed for the trainwreck in 2008.

Well since they are utterly failing in pushing through their most nefarious goals, count me among those who attest Congress “excellent” work. The less they do the better.

Liberals insist that Congress’ ratings are so low because Congress isn’t being Liberal enough. Guess 2008 will tell the tale.

Congressional Ratings: 2% Excellent 13% Good

I didn't know that 15% of the country had a close relative in Congress.

Time to dust off the term limits campaign. Here's a twist that I don't recall being discussed: let's propose an amendment specifying simply that Congress may vote to limit terms and, I would suggest, alter those limits as well.

I am open to discussion as to whether this should be done by majority or supermajority vote. I would also leave open such questions as the number of years/terms allowed, whether the limit is lifetime or consecutive terms, the commingling of House and Senate service, etc.

The point is simply to establish that the constitution does not bar limits and leave the rest up to the democratic process. Since any limits could be repealed or modified if problems became apparent, most of the objections are mooted.

Last year, the “objective” press constantly reminded us aobut Bush’s low approval ratings. Notice we have heard little about Bush’s approval ratings. That’s because Congress sinks even more.

I think Congress is doing an excellent job. Of course I like to watch train wrecks.

How many years can unelected staffers serve? Answer that question without running afoul of the Constitution and I’ll reconsider supporting term limits.

I find it interesting that the choices were skewed in favor of Congress. They seem to have been simply "Excellent", "Good", "Fair", and "Poor". "Poor" is the inverse of "Good", but they didn't include the inverse of "Excellent", which would be "Terrible" (or something with similar meaning).

It would be interesting to see how many, of the 49% who chose "Poor", would have chosen "Terrible", if it had been available.

It would also be interesting to see how many would shift from "Fair" to "Poor", if "Terrible" had been available as an extreme choice. These professional pollsters know that there are some people who will avoid an extreme choice, so they can skew results in one direction, by limiting choices in the other direction.

I certainly agree, but the ratmedia and the “PUNDITS” will always say this means the GOP is in for a long election night. I say Bull shiite. If these maggots go into election day sporting these kind of numbers, I like our chances very much!
