Robbers use 'psychic powers' to 'get into' clerk's mind, safe

MARLBOROUGH – Police are looking for help in solving a convenience store robbery Monday in which two men used distraction techniques and what the clerk described as "psychic powers" to "get into his mind" and somehow make off with a large amount of cash.

Marlborough Detective Steven E. LaMears said the clerk didn't realize until yesterday that he had been robbed by the two men.

"He was embarrassed to come forward at first," LaMears said.

"As he described it to me, he said it reminded him of when he would go overseas to his home in India and see the priests. He described it to me as 'getting into his mind,' in the same way as the priests do. I don't know a lot about the culture and don't fully understand it," LaMears said. "It's certainly a first for me."

Naturally, I would *never* suspect that they ‘got into his mind’ with the promise of splitting the loot if he happened to be distracted, knowwhatImean?

Is this one of those “Indian Rope Tricks”? Or wait- They were Indian snake charmers! They played their flutes at the clerk and charmed the safe open!

Okay true funny story — like this one —

I was recently in Nigeria. Read newspapers everyday. One day
(June 2 2007) a story appeared in the Sun Times (sorry no story link).

Two thugs in Lagos were arrested for robbing people stuck in traffic (common). Funny part is they’d just paid a witch doctor (juju man) to teach them an incantation and make them a charm, which combined would make them invisible to those they were robbing !!

The Juju man had them drink a concotion of dog and duck poop mixed w/water.

They went out to rob using a broken bottle, and asked a victim (a man) “can you see us ?”, the man said “no. I can’t see you” . They went to the next victim and the man ran , gathered a crowd and came after them...

From jail they exclaimed how angry they were at the Juju man for taking their money for the wrong chant/talisman !!! They want to beat him and his family for it !!

It’s like, dude, they read his mind.

If I were the local authorities, I would question both John Edward(s) as persons of interest.
