That’s exactly why some of us won’t let our daughters work at any of the fast food establishments.
Which reminds me, I need tires and brakes, I need to get them this weekend. I was going to go to the local national tire store, but the last time I was there, the bays were staffed with smirking illegals. So, I need to find a local shop that hires Americans...I have my work cut out for me. I saw them at the local Ford dealer, too, who were - emphasis *were* - getting a rep for being very competitive in price and they did an excellent job on my car when I took it to them.
They’re even getting into traditional fields where you don’t see them. Had to work with a commercial printer lately, and their prepress guy - and keep in mind, prepress is the heart and soul of a printer these days, it’s highly technical work and requires years of experience - and the new guy they hired...is Mexican. I could barely understand the guy.
Sigh.
They’re already replaced. Shame, really.
Now, excuse me, have to go to work, and get the usual stink eye and smirks from the illegals renovating our apartment complex. I know I’m not the only one tired of them, but the owners (big re company) don’t care.
But teenagers and the young of all races will work at a Starbucks, but they speak English. That kind of diversity, I support!
Check out ByDesign’s post #60 - that’s the sort of repulsive stuff I see. I seek out the increasingly rare family-owned independent restaurants and patronize them. They use trustworthy people, have a local clientel they wish to maintain and a reputation to uphold. They are the very spirit of American small business and deserve our support. It’s also the best way to deny those using illegal labor your hard-earned dollars.
And yes, TLI, I’ve become a good cook but worry if the raw products are safe or not. Perhaps it’s time for a resurgence of the Victory Garden!
Yep, I wouldn't allow my teenager to work in one. No way.
If I can be honest, I find the McDonald’s corporation, and all these other fast food, and many traditional restaurants to be sell out traitors, all chasing the bottom line profit regardless of consequences.....Cold day in hell when I give them my money.
Haven’t been to any restaurant now in over 8 months and prefer barbecuing and eating at home now. Screw them all.
It's because it's such a rich target environment now. It's coast to coast lawless chaos. They are now reporting that over 100 were arrested for being in the country illegally, and working at McDonald's, all in just the Reno area McDonald's.
This company makes me sick.

I went to our neighborhood Burger King for breakfast this am and the manager, who spoke English, called my order back to the kitchen in Spanish. I want to report them, but to whom? Does it help?

When we finally got to the window they had the order screwed up(shockeraoo). On paying they also gave us the order of the car behind us... extra stuff went to feed the birds along I80 west.
