Come on phony, tell me about your support for George Bush and his immigration policies. And then tell me why I should vote for Duncan Hunter ???
This debate just proved how confused we are about race and how we are heading in the wrong direction for our long term survival in this country. As racial interest become more prevalent & continue to take precedence over American interest we will see our country devolve into some sort of Bosnia or fully split factions. There is no turning back. We have set precedence for special interest racial politics and will continue to have Hispanic, black & whatever politics and I guess hope that we can somehow meld them together. Even if Hispanics become the majority or we reach racial “Nirvana” (not sure how or by whom that would be determined) race will be the prevailing factor and race based politics will not go away but intensify & become even more prevalent. God help us and America as we have now fully opened this Pandora’s box.

I don’t think so. Bush will be judged by two things. Economy and the war. If both are doing well, there will be no need to separate too far. As bad as Bush is in the polls, the dems are even worse.
Why don’t you tell us all who you support and why.
I just turned it off, this is a humiliating, degrading event.
When I saw most of the stage pulling knee pads out of their pockets, I had to hit the off switch.
Duncan Hunter was still maintaining his dignity and I loved the graceful way that he handled the opening remarks when he was expected to continue the race attacks on the other candidates and the GOP, he didn’t pander.
How about Tom Tancreado or maybe even Duncan Hunter NOT because they SO align with George Bush and his asshole policies,but because they DON’T !!!
I agree with what you said.
My husband and I watched the debate, other then the nut case Ron Paul, we saw men that truly want to be President to make a difference. Not politicians, as much as men that want to let we the people know they walk the talk and want to be President of all of America.
I didn’t feel any hostility toward them, they were treated with respect as they should have been. Those that did not show up well that spoke volumes of how little they respect all Americans and that is not a good thing, not at all.
I have condemned the democrats for not debating on Fox, for the same reason, they are saying they only want to be President over those that are CNN, etc, viewers. I will also condemn those that felt it was ok not to show up for this debate tonight.
I want a President that takes a stand and does not follow the crowd with what he feels is the popular way to go. My guess is those that did not show checked out who was not going to be there and made their decision accordingly. Bad judgment to say the least.
My take:
Huckabee: Pandered. Showed more of his socialistic mindset.
Brownback: More pandering. Thinks OBL deserves the death penalty, but not the guy who killed my sister. Screw him.
Paul: Seriously out of touch with reality. It’s hard to imagine a quicker way to finish off America, and particularly the black community, than legalizing drugs. His Fortress America mentality is crazy. The vacuum created by our withdrawal from the world would be filled by something, and it wouldn’t be something good. The result over the long haul would be us having to fight a war for survival instead of a war of containment of our enemies.
Tancredo: I thought he did okay. Kept well within the bounds of conservatism.
Hunter: Much sharper than in the last debate. He’s a good man and he did well.
Keyes: The most brilliant mind of our day. A truthteller. No respecter of persons. If elected, he’ll rank in history as one of the greatest Presidents in the history of the Republic.
I had other duties to attend to as well....just watching the DVR recording now.
This is a great observation. Keyes always comes across as the most articulate, intelligent, and passionate debater. I look forward most to his answers, not because I always agree with them, but because they will be presented forthrightly, thoughtfully, panderlessly, rhetorically satisfying, at times delightfully surprising.
But I think you are right. There is an air of superiority in his presentation, a detachment that can be perceived as unappealing. I think the man is just too smart for that office, and America wants someone they can relate to better. He'd make a heck of a press secretary if he could avoid inserting his opinions over those of his employer.
I hate to be so brutally honest where he is concerned because his analysis of issues is so superb. He has clearly studied them and understands them well. I understand fully how hard it is not to come off as condescending when you know something so well. What he needs to do is step back a little and package his answers a bit for public consumption. I’d love to have Alan Keyes as President but America as he is would not have him.
Uh, drugs are already illegal, and they're still destroying the black community. And Paul doesn't support carte blanche legalization, he'd decriminalize them at the federal level and let states decide if they want to legalize them or not.

He still supports border security and a strong national defense, and I bet that if our interests were threatened, he'd respond instead of going to "the international community" and other crap. He's not an isolationist, there'll still be a state department.

I watched the last half of this. I am a strong Duncan Hunter supporter.
Each candidate had answers that I liked. Paul’s answer about pulling ALL our troops out of EVERY place one earth and bringing them home was the silliest response of the night. The man lives in never-never-land.
I’ve always liked the tripartite plan for Iraq, and have been mentioning it for years now. Brownback. (political solution)
I like the idea of replacing our troops with trained Iraqis and pulling our guys when the Iraqis take the lead. Hunter. (military solution)
Tancredo seemed to be having trouble getting his words out last night.
Huckabee is clearly the best talker.
The best answer on the death penalty was by Ambassador Keyes. We uphold the value of life by dispatching the killer. If I steal a thousand bucks from you, and I only have to pay back 200, then I’m encouraged to take another 1000 and so are all my friends.
The bottom line is that this is a lousy format, and it doesn’t allow any candidate to shine. It’s not a debate, for sure.
A 2nd tier guy would do better at getting his name recognized by staging a spectacular media controversy than being at these “lost in the crowd” question and answer sessions.
