Thats how I saw it too.
Presidents elected directly from the House have spent a grand total of 6 months in office (Garfield). That number is not going to go up this time.
LOL... Brownbeck
Death Penalty... just for OBL.
Rut Roh... Tan said treason...
Duncan Hunter supports the death penalty in clear, certain terms WITHOUT any pandering...!!!
brownback looks like a fool up there. how the hell is he still in this race.
btw:glad to see keyes up there but i would rather see walter williams if you want a really great black conservative on stage.
Capital punishment: death penalty
RP: changed opinion on death penalty. issued unjustly. econimic disparity. DNA evidence shows too many mistakes. opposed.
BB: culture of life. culture recognizes every life. limit to cases where cannot protect individual from society. Limited use (OBL)
TomT: it is a state issue. support for treason. there must be appropriate penalty for certain crimes
Hunter: serves deterent purpose (not sure this is statistically true). deters some people and for that reason dealing with worst of the worst is necessary (not sure that’s true either)
Ak: it’s about respect for life. send signal. blacks kill most blacks, when kill we take seriously. not cheapen seriousness of that. dispatch that to ruler of us all. Seriously, I like this guy.
Huckabee: dislike it, had to carry it out. Did it b/c only conclusion based on what he reviewed. Not cavalier about it. necessary part of crim justice sys.
Manson pulled the trigger? Manson would’ve thought about the death penalty before acting?
I thought he sent the Family out to do his killing for him and tried to blame it on black radicals to start a race war that he felt he could come out on top of.
You know after a few years of NOt hearing Alan Keyes,I gotta admit I still love the guy !!!
Q: Death Penalty
Paul: no longer believes in federal death penalty. Unjust disparity.
Brownback: culture that recognizes beauty of life. Has difficulty with death penalty. Limit to people like Osama bin Laden. Teach culture of life.
Tancredo: Is a state issue. Death penalty for crimes like treason.
Hunter: Deterance. It does deter some people.
Keyes: Supports death penalty. It’s about respect for life. Black killers kill mostly kill black people.
Huckabee: Dislikes DP more than anybody on stage. had to carry out death penalty in his state. But it was the only conclusion when reading cases.
Hey! He is Omniscient!
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
It should have been called the “First Vice-Presidetial Candidate Debate.”
achievement gap: school interhreation (totally misconstrues Sup Ct holding)
BB: Invokes Brown. We need integration. Needs to do it on voluntary basis
TomT: only way black child can learn = sitting next to white = racism (great points on these issues throughout). charter schools, vouchers. will make integration natural
Hunter: population of schools should reflect community. small schools. not based on forced mandate by gov’t.
yes.. I am glad Alan Keyes is back too. well it is all over and I just got in on the tail end of it.
Oh Juan... law is law, neighborhoods are neighborhoods.
In those same blocks, are the teachers and schoold getting their share, are the parents involved, does the neighborhood make full use of resources, after-school programs etc.?
Hunter did great. Huckabee is pathetic.
I think Brownback and Huckabee are good men who allow emotion to get in the way of leadership
Q: Is Supreme Court right about recent integration case?
Brownback: we still need integration. Voluntary.
Tancredo: racist thing to say to say a black child can only learn sitting next to white child. choice to parents. Charter schools, vouchers.
Hunter: small schools, no forces govt mandate.
OUT OF TIME - DEBATE ENDS - GOODNIGHT FROM BALTIMORE - KEEP THE FAITH
Ye Gads and Little Fishes... Ron Paul chants.
It’s winding down folks, and you know what? it was one of the better debates BECAUSE the best candidates (Ron Paul excluded) were allowed to talk !!!
