SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) -- Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) gives all Americans the chance to gain insight into the nation's largest minority. Ruben Navarrette Jr.: Hispanics aren't going anywhere. In many cases, we were in the United States first. You might as well give it a try. There are more than 44 million Hispanics in the United States, and the Census Bureau estimates that -- by 2050 --

This article is pretty aggressive. Why such naked aggression? 1) Because it's clear we're finally taking a stand and he's putting up his dukes, or 2) because he thinks Americans are on the ropes?
Unless God blighted Mexico, there's no reason Mexico can't be like the US saving the fact that it's inhabited by Mexicans. Mexicans make Mexico. When the Colonists came to what is now the US, they didn't become hunter-gatherers. They brought Anglo-Saxony with them. Mexicans bring Mexico to the US. Based on the results to the south, I see only decline in store for us down the road. That makes me eager to fight. But it will be a fight, as Navarrette articulates, because these people have nothing to go back to.

It all depends where you are today.
Yep, if you are in America, they aren’t going anywhere.
If your anywhere other than America, however, the answer is ‘they are going to America’.

In Arizona, Texas and New Mexico, you'll find families whose roots go back five or six generations. These people never crossed a border, and yet many of them are treated as if they came across last week because of skin color or the language they speak. He's just making this stuff up. No one is upset with legal ctizens.
By the way, the population of Arizona in 1900 was 122,931.

The guy is a rampant racist who thinks this is all about Hispanics, when it’s all about illegal aliens. Not all illegal aliens are Hispanic and not all Hispanics are illegal aliens.

Its very clear that they believe that America will sell out Americans and the pride and dignity of the history of Western Civilization ....... for votes.
Fact is, they may very well be 100% correct. - What was the push for amnesty all about, if not for that?
Better get used to it and bow to your new masters, as you pay more and more taxes to provide ever more services for them.
By no means bitch about that little fact of life or you will be branded a racist.

Let’s look at this differently. Mexicans are crossing into the US illegally in droves to escape . . . . well, Mexico. Once here, however, they tell us that Mexico is the greatest place ever (if they would just get rid of all those Mexicans!). Then, they proceed to try to force the US to cater to their demands and re-formulate the US to be more like Mexico - the place they all left.
So, here’s the point. If they succeed in the Mexicanization of the US, where will we all go to escape “Amexico”??
The invasion must be stopped and stopped now. The illegals must be deported and sent back home. I’m tired of subsidizing them and can no longer afford them.

Trying to drum up sympathy for illegals, who are not welcome, by conflating them with hardworking legal immigrants, who are.

But it will be a fight, as Navarrette articulates, because these people have nothing to go back to. The illegals may want to find something to go back to, because if they fight, they will lose.

So they’re staying home now and aren’t coming to the US?

“So, heres the point. If they succeed in the Mexicanization of the US, where will we all go to escape Amexico??”
And where will they go next to escape? Like their presidente said, “wherever there are Mexicans, there is Mexico.” Which means after a time, they won’t want to live here anymore.

Mr Navarrette should remember that the rest of American society isn’t going anywhere either. Speaking for myself, I have no intention of abandoning my support of attempts to expel illegal immigrants and control the border. Nor do I intend to support any measure that would allow this country to become a bilingual nation, with Spanish or any other tongue as the second language. Nor do I support publically funded bilingual education in any form. Nor will I assent to any proposal that prolongs affirmative action for any group. Nor will I support any claim of reparations by any group. And I will oppose, violently if necessary, any attempt to establish Aztlan or any other “nation” within the territory of the United States.
If Mr Navarrette wishes to support me on any or all of these measures, I welcome his help. If he decides to oppose me, then the battle lines are drawn.

don’t you know it....and all of this way in place for us right after the War Between the States and our leaders had the vision to see that in the early 1900s we were going to need all of that infrastructure. It was there for the taking so a taking we went.
