SPITZER'S SAD LICENSE LUNACY (sucking up to illegal voting blocs)
NY POST ^ | September 27, 2007 | ABBY WISSE SCHACTER

The DMV, says Gov. Spitzer, "is not the INS" (He was referring to the old Immigration and Naturalization).... and his rewriting of DMV rules just adds to the whole mess.

Dumbo Democrat Spitzer does not know the INS is now ICE? (snicker) Not to worry----the guy sure knows how to lie and connive his way into public office.

BACKUP During the 1998 AG campaign, Dem Spitzer indignantly denied allegations by his GOP opponent, Dennis Vacco (a top-notch pro-life conservative), that Spitzer's wealthy father had provided millions in loans to his AG campaign. Spitzer insisted he was using only his own money (family members are limited by law to $110,000 in total contributions) and accused Vacco of "smearing" his father. Not until he'd actually taken office did Spitzer admit that Dennis Vacco had been correct, after all. In fact, it turned out Spitzer, despite earlier denials, had done the exact same thing during his unsuccessful 1994 run for AG.

NOTE WELL: Now how did the loving family convert all that money to sonny's election? The altruistic Spitzer family runs a "do-good foundation." The IRS has noted that some foundations are prime money laundering vehicles that use phony accounting and fake line items like "LEGAL, CONSULTING AND ADMIN FEES" that are tax evasion schemes. Some foundations also put ghost employees on the payroll to skim off monies.

Spitzer's a hyphenate slut, sucking up to voting blocs---even illegal voting blocs---to advance his sordid political ambitions. This DMV hyphenate suckup and anything involving Spitzer should be looked at under a powerful microscope. People like Spitzer should stay out of the public's business.

Same thing just proposed here in NJ. Great! Illegal immigrants carrying around State Documentation....two thirds of which still won’t have insurance.

Spitzer is an idiot.
This is the same clown that tried to break the indian treaties to collect gas and cigarette taxes to pay for his social programs.
He does not understand that they are a sovereign nation, it would be the same thing as trying to collect taxes from Canada.

You have plenty of company. The lowlife even used the power of state govt to go after Republicans-—the jerk madeup a story about Repub wrongdoing. Then when it got hot and Spitzer was being investigated, he paid off the state PTB to clear him. (Oh wait-—he probably got his fo-good dad to payoff the hounds).

1. Call the DMV there from different states, in other words, from out-of-state.

2. Tell them you are NOT A RESIDENT of the State Of New York.

3. Tell them for personal reasons, though, you wish to establish a presence there, at least on paper.

4. Ask them if they will let you get a drivers license through their office, even though you are not in the state legally.

5. See what their answer is.

6. Tell them that you also occasionally drive without your license, so would that be OK to skirt "just that one law from time to time" and leave the license at home when you visit New York State and drive as "undocumented"?

7. Report same to media, internet, late night comedy show hosts, friends and family.

They’re trying to claim in Spitzer’s office that the law which requires a SSN to get a NY license was never intended for illegal aliens. These are your typical liberals who believe in selective enforcement and defining the law as they please. Even Bloomberg has come out against this, which tells you how bad the idea is. I certainly hope the GOP follows through on a lawsuit because Spitzer has obviously overstepped his authority and needs to be slapped down.

Can the NYS legislature stop this? Should I be calling my local senator and assemblyman?

County clerks oppose change in licensing [for illegals in NY]

COOPERSTOWN NY A change in requirements intended to make it easier for illegal immigrants to renew their state drivers' licenses does not sit well with some county clerks, including Otsego County Clerk Kathy Sinnott-Gardner. ``I don't see why we should make the requirements more lenient for illegal immigrants than they are for our own citizens,'' she said.

Last week, Democratic Gov. Eliot Spitzer and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner David Swarts announced the DMV would no longer require non-citizens to produce Social Security numbers when renewing their licenses.

State law has required all license applicants to show either Social Security numbers or a letter from the Social Security Administration saying they were ineligible to receive Social Security numbers. The administrative change announced Sept. 21 waives this requirement for non-citizens.

According to the governor's website, www.ny.gov/governor/press, ``Individuals instead will provide a current foreign passport and other valid and verifiable documents to prove identity. ``As such, the DMV will be able to achieve its primary goal in issuing licenses, which is to ensure that the individual who is receiving the license is not misrepresenting (himself) to obtain a fraudulent identity card, and controlling who has access to driving motor vehicles,'' the website says.

The policy change will be phased in. In the first phase, which has begun, letters are being sent to about 152,000 New Yorkers, including 205 in Otsego County, who have, or had, valid New York licenses, but have been unable to renew them because they did not have proper identification. By the end of this year, they will be able to visit DMV offices and renew their licenses without showing Social Security numbers. Next year, in phase two, the same rules will apply to other immigrants.

In announcing the change, Spitzer said, ``I applaud the DMV and Commissioner Swarts for making this commonsense change that deals practically with the reality that hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants live among us, and that allowing them the opportunity to obtain driver licenses in a responsible and secure manner will help increase public safety.''

Sinnott-Gardner, a Republican, says she's not convinced. ``And I don't see how this is going to make us safer,'' she said. State Assem

blyman Peter Lopez, R-Schoharie, a former county clerk, said, ``I'm stunned. This doesn't make any sense, and I think it puts our communities at risk.'' Lopez said licenses are prized by people who are in the United States illegally, and providing licenses more easily is a step in the wrong direction.

State Sen. James Seward, R-Milford, said he doesn't believe that Spitzer has the legal authority to circumvent the state law mandating Social Security numbers or SSA documents to obtain a driver's license. ``I can't believe that in the post-9/11 era, the governor is doing this,'' Seward said.

A number of state senators are upset by the change, and the Legislature may react to it during a special session in October, he said.

There’s a rebellion taking place throughout the state among county DMV offices. I don’t see this going away or getting swept under the rug.

Can a Freeper stateside make a call to a DMV office in New York, and do the script that I suggested in Post #14, and get back to us? I would do it but it might cost a fortune from here, not to mention the time difference.
