The powerful sway that Bill and Hillary Clinton hold over the American media has been illustrated by their successful attempt to "kill" a negative magazine story about Mrs Clinton's presidential campaign.
According to the Politico newspaper, GQ magazine was planning to publish an article by writer Josh Green, who had previously angered the Clinton campaign by writing that the New York senator "offers no big ideas, no crusading causes" and had "plenty to talk about, but she doesn't have much to say".
The planned article included details of in-fighting within her tightly-controlled campaign and internal criticism of her campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle.
When Mr Green discussed the article with a senior Clinton press aide, the campaign moved swiftly.
Clinton advisers told GQ that if the Green article was published they would withdraw cooperation over a piece by George Saunders, a novelist and GQ writer, who travelled with Mr Clinton to Africa in July.
Mr Saunders is seen as more favourably disposed to the Clinton camp.
This year, he told a New York newspaper that he had twice voted for Mr Clinton and that "everybody likes him and knows him, so he can get people in a room and make things happen".
Mr Clinton is expected to appear on the cover of the December issue of GQ with the Saunders article inside. The magazine usually names a Man of the Year in that issue and Mr Clinton is understood to be in the running.
Jim Nelson, the GQ editor said to have taken the decision to pull the Green article, told Politico: "I don't really get into the inner workings of the magazine, but I can tell you that yes, we did kill a Hillary piece. We kill pieces all the time for a variety of reasons."
If you’re interested in removing the Telegraph’s spin on this, here’s the article straight from The Politico.

Simply the truth. And, as Jack so eloquently put it, they can't handle the truth.
The author of the article can put it out on the Internet and bypass the Clintoons. I’m sure her Highness would love to shut down the Internet. When she becomes Queen, that will be her first order.
Hugo Chavez is impressed.
Thanks for the link.
This from the editor??
And they want to be President of all of us?
If this country is STUPID AND IGNORANT enough to put the Marxist Medusa in the Oval Office, it deserves every bit of socialism, oppressive big government and Stalinist destruction of our rights and freedoms that it WILL GET.
Absolute government power, voiding any significant individual freedom is the wet-dream of this cartel of power and control freaks that has taken over the Left in America.
Caveat Emptor.
‘I don’t really get into the inner workings of the magazine,
This from the editor??’

True. Sort of like Little Pinch Sulzberger saying..”Well, I’m not a part of the group ruining the New York Slimes reputation and standing.”
They did try to kill ABC’s 9-11 docudrama, so it’s no surprise to me to hear they’d try to kill a negative story about hillary’s campaign.
That is very neat looking devolve! Your text is eye catching.
I assume the GQ thing is the front page picture of Clinton with the tie hanging down - or not?
I used to have that picture but can’t find it now.
.
I added TP BG to total of 544 wide
I-M - 1 pixel yellow border over purple
I forget the font style I picked
I-M gives moving text in many cases and has more font styles
G-W has only a few styles, no border, but text stay static
Slick Willie has a GQ cover plus article in Dec ‘08
Speculation is it would be “Man Of The Year”
I figured I’d give Slick Willie and Hillary a free preview of what is to come
NOTHING!!!!!!!
Or Possibly
Absolute corruption craves absolute power.
