Why in my day...I used to have to fly 500 miles to school
hanging on the wing of a 747, up hill both ways, some times
my hands would never defrost and the teacher would stand me in the corner and use me for a coat rack...

While I suspect this isn’t true, it would be nothing short of a miracle.

From what I know about aerodynamics, admittedly most from cars, but as I understand it there is a negative pressure produced on the upper side of the wing and there is a zone of air around the trailing surfaces that moves at a significantly slower speed, which is the basis of lift.

Ever seen Flight Of the Phoenix?

They held on to the rails on the wings to get out of Dodge.

I hope a real Aero Engineer will chime in here.

The lack of oxygen at 35000 feet is quite another matter entirely however.

Cheers,

Never tell a Russki to get on the plane. Be more specific and tell them to get IN the plane.

What do you hold onto on the wing of a 737 to keep from being sucked/blown off the wing?..... Secondly how do you survive [oxygen - temperature] at the altitudes a 737 normally cruises?....

the boy's parents were immediately informed, and flew to the capital the same day

One on each wing.

His arms and legs were so severely frozen that rescuers were at first unable to remove his coat and shoes

Notice they do not say severely frostbitten. They say severely frozen, frozen so solidly apparently they couldn't even bend his arms enough to remove his coat.

Now, I'm not going to say this story is bogus, but if your arms and legs are frozen solid, you're not going to hang onto anything. He would've had to have wedged himself into the flaps or something.
