I’m hoping for a Clinton - Easley ticket. That would drive a stake in the heart of the Democrat beast once and for all.

That’s the VP candidate she needs. Obama has his own negatives. If Hillary! selects a “middle of the road candidate”, (translation: white male), she’ll be a lock. Heck she even has GWB advising her.
It’s going to be a VERY bumpy ride.

Evan Bayh’s father was the commencement speaker at my college graduation. It was hot, I was hungover, and the speech was interminably long and boring - even by commencement-talk standards. My personal version of The Longest Day.

I don’t see it. There’s no pandering there.
My guess is Richardson (Latino) maybe Obama (blacks) or perhaps Clark (strong, makes her seem promilitary).

If Bayh has plans of his own, he’d do well to steer clear of Hitlery. Even if they win, he will go down in history as Hitlery’s bitch. If they lose, he will be “unclean” to the Rats.

Evan is not much of a name change considering some of the other recent examples--Hart (Hartpence), Clinton (really Blythe, whether or not his putative father was his biological father), Ford (really King), Willard calling himself Mitt, etc.
There was a post some time back on FR about Bayh's father and a really sordid scandal he was supposedly involved in (I think a woman ended up dead). Of course that doesn't matter in the case of a Democrat...Teddy Kennedy is one of the party's most eminent leaders.

“A Clinton-Bayh ticket for 2008?”
Only if Bayh is agreeable to having his testicles put in Hillary’s lock-box.

"John Edwards was born Johnny Edwards (but changed it when he became a lawyer so as not to detract from the dignity of that profession).
Like Johnnie Cochran?

Bayh is the same as John Edwards-and the people of Indiana won’t fall for it!

I haven’t seen anyone mention it but in the DC area, it has been reported that James Webb is being considered for a VP slot. If Clinton-Webb gets elected in 2008, I believe that we will finally be living in a real-time 24 episode.

The smarter choice would be Hil-Richardson. He brings the SW, Hispanic votes all into the Dem column. The Pubs would have to go with Rudy-Huck or Thompson to keep the South from straying. The Dems are in the driver’s seat unless Pubs and the BASE unite to beat Her Highness. If not, doomsday and no baloney about Pubs just being Dems; they are not as far as jurist appointments, the WOT, permanent tax cuts, et al. It is going to be rough and could be fraught with horror for our republic if the Dems sweep.

“Heck she even has GWB advising her.”
You know he has an interest in this so in 2016 the groundwork will be layed for Jeb Bush’s race to the White house.

With IN being shaky for the GOP, this idea of the popular Bayh (whom many THINK is “conservative”) should give HRC 40 states.
