They are serious. Getting in before the primaries means they want to ensure we get a serious conservative candidate who has the best shot at defeating Hillary. And that’s why they’re not about to endorse a whacked out antiwar moonbat or a liberal gun grabber or a flip flopping RINO. The choice is obvious.
Go, FRed, Go!!

I think if the NRA endorses Fred it will help galvanize a lot more people who are undecided. It will also reinforce that “gun rights” will be a plank in Fred’s platform which is sure to bring out the moonbats ire.

As a gun owner, I really, really like the fact that FRed has gone right after the gun owner vote. He's been appearing at gun shows and saying all the right things. Rudy and the other RINOs all look like children trying to force down a mouthful of Brussels sprouts when they say pro-gun things. (And as for Rudy, at least the other RINOs know the difference between the 2nd and 4th Amendments!)

There's something else that I find interesting: yesterday I received a mailing with a "Fred08" marking on the envelope. Inside was a donation form and 2nd Amendment-related questionnaire for me to complete and return. The cover letter gave the gun-rights positions of Fred and his top-tier Republican competitors as well as Hillary and Obama.
It didn't say "NRA" anywhere on the papers, but I'd bet that the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action played a big part in producing that mailing. I've seen enough of their work in the past to notice the similarities.
