Don’t we always hammer the unions for doing this kind of thing so early? And why not Duncan Hunter? This comes off as another of those Fred/Rudy/Romney/McCain is a tier 1 candidate self-fulfilling prophecies and I don’t think I’m the only one who does not like that.
I like Hunter but he has only a marginal chance of victory since he can't hope to win over the independent moderates or the conservative democrats (Reagan Democrats) who'll be more terrified of Hillary than Fred but unable to commit to Hunter for a wider variety of reasons besides guns. You absolutely cannot win the Oval Office without attracting a substantial number of votes from across the aisle.
As for the unions...well sure...but they're always on the side of EVIL and they always choose to sacrifice their souls (and guns) to find the next DO-BOY who will dance to their worker state tune.
You raise a good point, in that there is more than one good candidate for the NRA to choose from. But they aren't endorsing right now. By Feb-March of next year, it will be time for those who have not broken 10% to start heading for stage right.
I think you’re correct about the Rudy/Romney/McCain deal but you’re wrong about Thompson.
I like Hunter but he’s had PLENTY of chance to break out, much more time to raise money then Fred and Fred is beating him hands down.
Wyoming Cowboy got a response about his RP comment and I think it was right on. RP doesn’t have a chance of getting the nomination and apparently Hunter’s inability to break out of low single digits puts him in the same catagory.
I don’t think FT should be placed in the same catagory as the 3 MSM and Party Official candidates they tried to shove down our throats. It’s probably more accurate to say he’s the alternative to that.
IMHO, the Thompson and Hunter are the top tier with Romney and Huckabee 2nd tier. The rest are just chatter in my opinion.
