Statement from Mayor Rudy Giuliani -- UN, Ahmadinejad--IRAN, Human Rights Council and Israel
Rudy ^ | September 24, 2007 | Rudy Giuliani

New York City – Mayor Rudy Giuliani released the following statement to be read at the National Rally To End The Threat Now being held today at noon:

"I have always been proud to stand with the Conference of Presidents and speak out against terrorists and their supporters. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is an enemy of America, Israel, and the entire free world. We should never remain silent when evil makes an appearance.

"We will not allow a nuclear Iran. Period. We will work with our allies and use every tool at our disposal to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power. That is not a threat. It's a promise. Iran is the leading state-sponsor of terrorism, the host of Bin Laden's son and other top al-Qaeda leaders, and the supplier of weapons being used to kill American soldiers in Iraq. His promises to destroy America and Israel should not, can not, and will not be ignored.

"It is a sad reflection on the United Nations that the General Assembly and Human Rights Council have ignored these actions and instead focused attention on demonizing the State of Israel.

"You are standing here today to tell the world that Ahmadinejad's threats and actions have not gone unnoticed by all. I am proud to stand with you."

Interesting takes from Hillary and Obama: http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/24/ahmadinejad.candidates/
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, also appeared to question the university's decision Monday. Video Watch Sen. Clinton call for intense diplomacy with Iran »

"If I were the president of a university, I would not have invited him, but I did not express an opinion about the decision made by Columbia," Clinton said. "Obviously I was very much against his desire to go to ground zero. I thought that was absolutely out of bounds and unacceptable and thankfully it was not permitted."

One of Clinton's chief rivals for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, also said he would not have invited Ahmadinejad to Columbia but stood his ground Monday on his controversial remarks earlier this year that he would meet with him.

What does John Edwards have to say? After all, the War on Terror is just a bumper sticker according to him. We have more pressing domestic issues like welfare, Global Warning and Gubmint cheese for the poor who work at his estate.

Did not Rudy make a 180 degree turn on the Second Amendment, the one in which he took a cell phone call? Looks like he is coming around on the SA.

I don't trust the man. He was anti Second Amendment until he realized how important it is to many of us. He lost me a long time ago. Politicians don't "come around", they just try and change their spots.

The President is a tough guy or else he would not be battling the Islamic Cults in two countries right now amid extreme hatred and pressure.

Therefore, I’m guessing he is calculating how much of an SOB he can be.

And my guess is that among our candidates, FT would be most like this President in tone, attitude and personality in the WOT, judging by his past service in the Senate.

Judging by RG past service in government and as major, I would guess he would be a ruthless SOB in the WOT.
