And shall we say this is typical of you to ridicule those of us...(& there are many) who appreciate & support this fine man, Duncan Hunter.

We rarley cast any aspersions about Duncan, at most we may make a refrence to his poll standing, just because so many of his folks strike out at others especially FDT.

For the most part all FDT folks like Hunter. It has been said so repeatedly.

I wish Hunters loyalist were the same way.

I appreciate and support Duncan Hunter as far as I can and never said otherwise, but I also recognize that he’s going nowhere fast and I won’t put my money or energy toward a candidate that amounts to Hell’s Biggest Snowball.

What’s more, I don’t troll around on Hunter threads taking pot-shots at him. Ever. I defend and support Fred on the Fred threads and don’t feel a need to slum around throwing mud at the other republican candidates. Reagan’s 11th commandment, if you’ve ever heard of it.

But apparently my post struck a nerve. Which I couldn’t care less.

I’ve hinted at this before, but I guess I’ll say it directly now.

I support Hunter too but I don’t think it’s very productive for anyone to go around trashing the other candidates. (Except for Guiliani, Paul, and maybe Romney, I don’t know him well enough to know if he deserves the flack he gets, but the first two richly deserve their criticisms).

The others in the race are a perfectly acceptable alterantive to Hunter; if one goes around trashing the others, then it’s just needlessly burning a bridge, IMO.

Hypothetical: What are “you” (the general “you” not anyone specifically) going to do when “YFC” (your favorite candidate) does not get the nomination? Are you going to sit on your hands and be one of those 3rd party candiate pouters and not vote to keep the Beast out of office?

Probably not. You will hold your nose and vote. However, emotionally investing oneself in one candidate over another reduces your effective ability to convince others to do the same, when the need arises. And it will arise for some people, because obviously, only “one” can get the nod.

So going to other theads that are pro - YFHC (your favorite hated candidate) and wasting energy (AND bumping the thread!) trashing YFHC, you’re doing just that: Wasting energy you could be expending PROMOTING YFC, and making enemies in the process.

A loose-loose the way I see it.

"And shall we say this is typical of you to ridicule those of us...(& there are many) who appreciate & support this fine man, Duncan Hunter."

And may I say that a few of the Duncan Hunter supporters bring that ridicule down on their own heads by their obnoxious behavior as evidenced by posts on this thread and others.
