Anyone know where I can find an audio or video stream of Ahmadinejad's appearance at columbia? Blan on blogging it I can find one.
Oh I read it....it’s sick. It’s like those crazy people that fall in love with serial killers.
What is this world coming to??
I believe it was mentioned that he smells.
"As an American, I was stunned and embarrassed by Bollinger's harangue of Ahmedinejad. It was a craven and cowardly capitulation to political pressures, and unworthy of the academic institution that Bollinger represents."
thanks for the link. I don’t doubt that he was probably involved, just not in the picture
I guess you and I interpreted it differently, I thought it was scathing ...
He has the UN as a platform. We don't have to offer him one of our universities as well. Right after his appearance at Columbia, Bill Richardson was interviewed and he said that although he disagreed with Ahmadinejad, we need to sit down and negotiate with the Iranians. That is just foolhardy.
The main condemnation I've heard about Nutjob is that he has 'called for the elimination of Israel.' All the MSM admits that, and it colors the guy as a non-serious, er dangerous, nutjob.
He is a terrorist and supporter of terrorists. It is not just about Israel's security, but our security. Some of the hostages from the second takeover of our Embassy in Tehran believe that he was one of the hostage takers. Iran is also supplying weapons, training, and advisors to the insurgents in Iraq who are killing our soldiers.
Next we're going to hear that Nutjob has to go, not because he's got nukes, but because he's offended NAMBLA! That's about all that can get the MSM to get excited about.
That may win him some friends.
Actually, it was one of the few times in many years that a prominent academic has displayed anything other than spineless equivocation and sniveling retreat in front of the threat of Islamo-fascism. There is much else to criticize Bollinger for, but this was his finest hour.
Obviously a physical assault on a foreign head of state would be met with any force necessary to protect him. It is our obligation as host country of the UIN.
Hillary Clinton doesn't answer a single question either, she just spews talking points whether they are germaine or not. Ahmadinejad does the same thing, e.g, he pulled the Palestinian card, which reasonates in many places, including in the US.
Excellent point.
Scathing. I don’t understand the voting then.
Maybe as a war widow I don’t find the whole “Is he hot as a terrorist?” thing even remotely humorous or worth evaluating AT ALL.
I wasn’t talking about random assault - a citizens arrest.
He should be standing trial for his crimes.
Who is "we?" It's not your University or my University. If their BOD approves it, then the last thing I want is "our" government telling Universities what they can and cannot say.
It was a free country.
exerpt: Third, the notion conveyed by Columbia President Lee Bollinger that this is an opportunity to challenge Ahmadinejad on a host of controversial subjects is naive. Anyone who thinks this will be a productive exercise, either to further expose the hatred of the Iranian president or to get him to alter his views, is engaged in wishful thinking. His public statements and media interviews, such as on 60 Minutes, make clear that he is a master at avoiding the question or turning it on the questioner.

I wish Liberals would speak in Farsi. I can understand English.
Columbia showed Antiamericanism by inviting, then backpedalled and insulted Ahmed when faced with defudning showing Cowardice. They admire the bastard and had no business pointing out his human rights record because we know the only human rights record that matters to Lefties is US/UK
Diplomatic Immunity.
Iran hanged up to 30 people this past July and August during a widely reported suppression of efforts to establish a more democratic society. Many of these executions were carried out in public view, a violation of the international covenant of civil and political rights to which Iran is a party.
LOLOL yeah...then they could ramble on and none of us would have a clue what they’re saying, and our blood pressure wouldn’t go up.
