It was a thrill to see the President again. I met with him at Camp Pendleton in 2004. I gave him photos of the boys in Dress Blues :)
April is just about the sweetest person in the world. I don’t know how I would have made it through everything without her there. And Nick, TRULY, is such an inspiring man. He is a natural born leader.
LOL...I have a funny story about Nick. My kids LOVED “Mr. Nick”. My then 7 year old daughter would knock on Nick and April’s door and ask to see Mr. Nick. April would ask her if she needed anything. My daughter would say “no, we just want to look at him.” So Nick started yelling out the door “Hey, tell the kids there will be a viewing of Mr. Nick at 3:00, when he washes his car!” :)
God puts all us in different places for a reason I believe. I was lucky enough to be put near Nick and April. :)

The President seems to “glow” when he is with the troops, their families and children..I know he loved your picture.
Now that story about “Mr. Nick” makes my screen blurry..while it makes me smile..
I thank God He placed you there.
Loved your stories about this, deb! Indeed a small world to find one of our FReepers was a neighbor of one of our heroes we read about here!
Hi Deb, Enjoyed your little story....I am also glad to see your picture at the White House. I have never been prouder than you all being invited to the White House. Our President is certainly proud to have patriots on his side when everyone is kicking him down!
I loved reading all Your touching replies!
