In the 1970’s they would have gotten away with it. It is chilling that a news organization, respected by too many, would use their reputation to decide that the President needed to be taken out, and would do what it took to achieve their goal.

It has already been done. Richard Nixon's resignation was, in my opinion, a Drive-By Media coup d'etat.

Yes, the media wanted to take out RN. But, the Watergate burglary was at least a fact.

Conversely, the Texas ANG letter was pure fabrication. I wonder what the nation’s reaction would have been had the TANG letter been widely accepted, his poll numbers then tanked, he loses, Kerry wins and then a few months into 2005 it comes out that the letter was fantasy of CBS News.

Our country was fortunate that CBS was so incompetent in their pathological need to destroy Republicans.
