It feels so strange when I think about how young he was when he died. (at least by my present perspective)

He was overseas since North Africa in 43 and did not get home until late 45, he married my mom and had 7 children, sending two of them off to college before his death.

My dad lacked 2 1/2 years of seeing his oldest grandson graduating from High School, but I have NO doubt that he was there for the ceremony....
