Band of Brothers was good, But it killed the US WW2 reenactor. After B.O.B, Everyone wanted to be 101st Airborne and everyone thought they were LT Spears.
I wish someone would do something on little Known units, like the “ Bloodbucket” A PA National Guard unit that fought hard and was almost destroyed.

It’s kind of like the stories on Gettysburg, which always talk about Joshua Chamberlain’s Maine regiment (and virtually no one else) on the second day.

Actually, it did not kill WWII reenactors. It brought more people in as such. Reenactors become historians and collectors, and change impressions as they grow within the hobby.
IMO, as a reenactor/living historian, I say the more the better.

The "Bloodbucket" (28th Infantry) Division was featured for a few minutes in the movie--they were the troops that were shown marching down the Champs Elysées below the Arc de Triomphe. Still, they weren't identified by their unit. (The 28th march through liberated Paris in August 1944 was also featured on a US postage stamp). I hope that units like the 28th are identified by Burns in later segments of "The War."

like the Bloodbucket A PA National Guard unit that fought hard and was almost destroyed. They were so named for their crimson-red, keystone-shaped insignia, which resembled a bucket of blood.
