I saw an interveiw with Ken Burns this morning where he says that no one is in this film unless they were fighting in the war or at home waiting for your loved one to come home.
He kept politics out of the documentry.
I have been waiting months for this.

Band of Brothers was excellent! Hopefully this will be up to that standard and to Burn's own Civil War series.

Let me know how well it’s done. The left of center editor of my local rag wrote that he will be watching this show with his son tonight so he can teach his son about the cost of war. I just hope he can understand the costs of not going to war.

I sure hope he tells the truth as my father flew the Burma Hump in WWII. You did not know if you were going to return everytime you flew.

It’s not entirely free of politics. Burns gave in to Hispanic pressure groups that wanted more of their members to be included in the documentary. They’re still pissed off and vowing to boycott it.

Under no circumstances will I watch anything from a Damn Leftie like Ken Burns. I don’t care what the reviews are or who sucks up to it I will not watch it.
Somewhere embedded in this so called Documentary is more of the defeatist Left Wing Drivel we have to listen to.
So Ken take your Documentary and shove it where the Sun Don’t Shine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Hi-Def if you got it. Burns’ Civil War was the best thing ever produced for television and this one is supposed to be better? I don’t see how.

He kept politics out of the documentary."
Impossible.
I've heard from Oliver Stone, Micheal Moore, and now Ken Burns.

I will believe that politics were left out of it if they show some happy Iraqis and positive results. Not a whitewash job, just the complete story.
So many documentaries are technically accurate, but by omission they don't show any positive things. By omission they become political.

Well, that's a good start.
If Burns doesn't do a repeat of his Sominex-substitute "Jazz"
and "Baseball" series...he might just field a winner!

I heard his interview with Bob Costas, where he said there was lots of critism against Lincoln during the Civil war,and FDR in WWll,and then proceeded to critise President Bush for the war on terror.Apparently the irony went right over his head.

Hope it’s on rebroadcasts as PBS often does. They are starting it opposite daBears game.
I also hope it’s in HD. The Chicago WTTW HD over the air signal is outstanding.
To: submarinerswife
Thanks! I have been wondering about when it was on.
