Israelis seized nuclear material in Syrian raid

Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem.

The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related, the well-placed sources say.

They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean. This raised fears that Syria might have joined North Korea and Iran in seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.

Israeli special forces had been gathering intelligence for several months in Syria, according to Israeli sources. They located the nuclear material at a compound near Dayr az-Zwar in the north.

Evidence that North Korean personnel were at the site is said to have been shared with President George W Bush over the summer. A senior American source said the administration sought proof of nuclear-related activities before giving the attack its blessing.

Diplomats in North Korea and China believe a number of North Koreans were killed in the strike, based on reports reaching Asian governments about conversations between Chinese and North Korean officials.

Syrian officials flew to Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, last week, reinforcing the view that the two nations were coordinating their response.

I’m pretty sure the stuff can be sorted, and also that if the shipment was tracked, we’d have some sample for it while enroute. Nuclear chemicals have more of a signature than non-nuclear chemicals because of the decay processes. You just have to have good testing facilities, fresh samples, and certain radio-chemical information that is hard to find in public sources.

They probably used that traitors presence as a diversion. Apparently, that is about all those moonbats are worth. Misleading and misdirecting our enemies.

What we really need right now more than anything, is the world renowned expertise of Jimmy Carter, Peanut Farmer to the Stars. This guy could resolve the problems of Iran and Syria going nuclear in just a matter of days.

Look how well he cleared up the North Korean problem a decade ago. And don't forget his masterful manipulation of Iran's leadership in the late 1970s.

He's the only reason we haven't had a single problem with Iran over the last thirty years.

I wonder if he'd do it. He doesn't like the limelight...

GAG ME WITH A PITCHFORK!

But the MSM is reporting 27/7 about what OJ has been charged with ....

And, of course, that Bush lied about Iraqi/Syrian/Iranian/North Korean WMD’s .....

Even the ORIGINAL Israeli raid, the bombing, and the (lack of!) Syrian response is being ignored.

I was referred to this online book in a prior FR thread on this subject,

http://books.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=11265&page=183

it answers a good number of questions regarding “fingerprinting” nuclear fissile materials to point of production, and even to point of mineral extraction.

I saw a B-2 fly into Wichita today in broad daylight.
The last time I saw that Saddam’s Iraq got pounded within the week.
I don’t know if it is just maintenance being done at Boeing or something is up.
If we’re readying the B-2 for something, that means we’re going to start it!
I’m hoping to see the A$$whooping begin courtesy of George W. Bush.
I’ll be bummed if nothing goes boom in the night soon.

You too need to check each others’ sources - you’re writing contradictory reports about NK’s (nuclear) fissile/futile/fubar blast last year.

Wouldn’t it be funny if crap hit the fan in the middle-east while Iran’s ImANutJob is over here sightseeing.

Maybe airport security could detain him for a cavity search on his way home.
Regime change is easier while your old leader is off visiting the Great Satan.
