everyone knows that aliens can drive anywhere in America with their country of origin’s drivers license.
What the Lefties want is these illegals to be able to go to the DMV, apply for a drivers license and then go to the next window and REGISTER TO VOTE...all in one swoop!

However, I believe that the problem for any foreigner, legal or not, isn't with driving as such --- it's insurance.
While with a rental car a foreigner can use a foreign or international driving license to get insurance via the rental company, I don't believe that for a personal vehicle that any U.S. insurance company will insure the driver unless he has a valid U.S. driving license.
When I registered to vote (albeit not in New York), I had to present only a signature (or other mark if illiterate) indicating affirmation to a statement of citizenship and eligibility. I also had to provide a name and address to place me in the proper precinct. No other form of identification was required or expected. The affirmation of citizenship deters aliens from voting quite effectively unless they’re Democrats or feign a lack of understanding of English.

Amazing how large groups of new voters get preferential treatment over large groups of voters. It can only mean they think they own those already registered to vote.
