Aren’t we supposed to move beyond race at some point? What does race have to do with being overweight?

Well, it shouldn't make a difference to Martin Luther King's color blind society, but the article above this one has these figures:

It is a mistake to think that obesity is a problem only in certain social or racial groups. It is rampant in all races, in both genders, and across all ages. It would be (sic) mistake as well to believe that race and social class do not matter. The prevalence of significant obesity (body mass index over 30) in the U.S. population is 29% for Caucasians, 34% for Hispanics and 40% for African Americans. Fully 78% of African American females are overweight or obese.

78 percent is a HUGH figure. How can this be?

actually race does play into weight a bit

diabetes, metabolism etc.

some tribes, races, ethnicities suffer more of certain gentic predipositions to illnesses

and have higher testosterone

birth canal diameters

cranium sizes

bone density

penis size...no I’m not kidding

vaginal canal length...more primitive...longer to protect baby

reflex muscle synapse

muscle distribution

eye placement and disorders

digestive anomalies

I could go on and on

when I was young, black women were heavier older....now lower class white women are too

as are Amerindian latino immigrants....in a very high percentage

some folks are less prone to weight gain....most Asians notably

you know...a Big Big Gulp can have 2000 calories minimum in one big cup

throw back 2-3 of those a day and 3 bags of Big Macs and you’re at 10,000 calories and with a sedentary couch meets bong pipe lifestyle you will have a belly apron in no time

the only real help is meth...lol..but you’ll need a good dentist

it’s not funny but man folks are so dang fat today....whoa...I bet your average 18 year old girl is 20 pounds heavier and one cup size larger than in my day

Diet is pretty easy. Plenty of clean water, raw veggies, raw fruits, a few almonds, lean cuts of meat, salmon, tuna and sardines. Drop the grains. Add to this sufficient sleep and exercise. There. It did not cost you a penny, and you can now eat like you are rich.
