No kidding. Rudy on guns, Romney on babies, Thompson on CFR. What they are really saying though is I'll listen to you. Because they know if they don't they'll have their feet held to the fire for 4 - 8 years. So what can they really offer? Will Rudy really veto any federal gun legislation coming from a Rat Congress in the face of the next outrageous shooting? (They are coming for the guns) Will Romney really appoint conservative judges? (They are coming for the stem cells) Will Fred veto additional Democrat campaign funding regulations designed to suppress free expression? (The are coming for the internet) And for each of the candidates, as the President of a minority party what are willing to bargain away in the process of protecting these rights? The question isn't who is the "real" conservative but rather which of these guys do conservatives have real influence over. When conservatives need to pitch a fit again - and it will happen with any of them- who will jump the highest? For me anyway, there's this question. Which one of these guys needs conservatives the most?

Although I am suspicious, 9-11 turned alot of people who were liberal into conservatives. Look at Dennis Millers conversion and he blasts Democrats like no one else. I think personally conservative people sometimes get fooled or beat down when they are constantly surrounded by liberals. It takes something like 9-11 to connect their gut to their head.
