Its only Wednesday, but already its been a busy week for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, who is, of course, currently running for the Republican nomination for president. Since Monday, he held a press conference denouncing Hillary Clintons much-discussed national health-care plan, wrote a letter urging U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to bar Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from addressing the U.N., and unveiled a 68-page policy document titled, Strategy for a Stronger America. On Tuesday, Romney spoke with National Review Online about his week so far.

Romney sounded more certain when the discussion moved to Iran. I asked him about his letter to Ban Ki-moon, requesting that the newly-elected secretary-general revoke Ahmadinejads invitation to address the U.N. General Assembly next week. Wouldnt it have made more sense to ask the U.S. State Department simply to deny Ahmadinejad a visa?
The invitation was extended by the secretary-general, and thats the first place where, in my view, the invitation should be withdrawn, Romney says. He repeated another point he made in his letter to Ban Ki-moon, which is that Ahmadinejad should be indicted for inciting genocide against the people of Israel.

Actually, I think the early contests are more significant than theyve been in the past, in part because they come so quickly prior to the Super Tuesday, Romney says. If somebody does well in the early primaries it would be very hard for someone else to try and reverse that momentum just not enough time to raise the funds and go up on TV and try and change the momentum.

Hey, "Mr. Apparently the Surge is Working," if you'll remember 2004, Howard Dean was way ahead in those early LIBERAL anti-war states like you. He crashed after going nuts...maybe you need to think about folding your tent and getting out of the way so a REAL contender can have a chance at whipping Hillary.
McCain flip/flops on the surge.

I believe...
No..it is...

...I’d like to ask Mitt why, even after he’s spent millions and millions of dollars, that he can’t seem to get better than 18% in the polls!?
He just doesn’t resonate with voters.
Willard, why haven’t you apologized for lying about Ronald Reagan’s pro-life beliefs?
Mitt, you gave Central American Illegal Aliens free reign at your home for almost a decade, even sending them to your sons house.
Did you ever fear for the safety of your wife and family?
If not, why not?
Mitt Romney did not lie about Ronald Reagan’s pro-life beliefs but if you say it enough times maybe you can convince yourself.
Ronald Reagan was never “adamantly pro-choice.” Willard lied.
Romney is without a doubt the hardest working and most efficient of all the candidates. Though I prefer Mitt, Giuliani would be second in the hard work and efficient category. Fred T comes in last.
There you go again. One thing we can all agree on - Ronald Reagan was a great man, a great president, a great leader; we all loved him.
Ronald Reagan was never “adamantly pro-choice.” Slick Willard lied.
That statement is exactly why most people can’t take you seriously.
Anybody who thinks Rudy is a good candidate after everything that has been pointed out and discovered on this website does not have a clue.
That’s not what she said. She said Rudy was working hard and efficiently. There was nothing about agreement or approval in her statement.
Hillary’s campaign has been run very well so far. Noticing that does not mean I agree with her candidacy. Far from it.
“Ronald Reagan was never adamantly pro-choice. Slick Willard lied.”
Incredible that the Romney people have not only not apologized, but his followers are still making the false attack.
Bttt!
Incredible that the Mitt-bashers repeat the same slime again and again, even after it is refuted again and again. Groundhog day with these folks.
Romney has repeatedly praised Reagan. Reagan as Governor passed a liberal abortion bill. Romney as Governor behaved pro-life. Romney characterized his evolution in views, nothing more and nothing less, and your attack on him is a deliberate distortion of what he said. But you know this and dont care. Your small-minded attacks are disgusting. You really need to get. a. life.
Its time you were FOR some candidate instead of bashing Romney over your own weird obsessions.
I just wish freepers would bash Democrats as much as they bash Republicans
Ronald Reagan was never adamantly pro-choice. Slick Willard lied.
“Mitt Romney did not lie about Ronald Reagans pro-life beliefs but if you say it enough times maybe you can convince yourself.”
Yes, they must believe in Goebbels’ method: Keep repeating the hyperbole/ lie ad nauseum and enough suckers will believe it.
Romney has praised Reagan on multiple occassions, and even won a “Ronald Reagan freedom” award at one point. The self-serving comment Romney made was simply to point out that he was not unique in evolving his position on life.
The bashers never acknowledge that.
“And the truth is as a governor, I faced the issue of life and came out on the side of life on every single occasion that a bill was brought before me. ... I changed my position on abortion. I was effectively pro-choice, given the statements I had made, but I am pro-life. I’m proud of that.” - Mitt Romney
