WINDSOR, Ontario, Sept. 20 Fleeing stepped-up sweeps by the American authorities, illegal immigrants to the United States, mostly Mexican, are arriving in growing numbers at the foot of the bridge in this Canadian border town seeking refugee status.
Still more immigrants, mostly Mexicans living illegally in Florida, have begun trying to make their way past Americas northern border at other locations, the majority of them flying into the airport in Toronto, Canadian officials said Thursday.
The arrivals here began suddenly three weeks ago, just a family or two at first, fueled by the notion largely unfounded, the authorities here say that Canada would grant them asylum.

Canadian taxpayer dollars already going to people who they didn't ask for. Free stuff! But Canada is a more liberal country overall, despite the fact that they now have a conservative Prime Minister...maybe they will be good libs and have mercy...that would solve our problems and Mexicos.
Dear Major Harbin
You could pass along this information about the new Canadian immigration rules, and tell the Mexican refugees to pass the word. It’s a horrible mess, indeed, but lots of people will get hurt if the Mexicans come to believe that Canada is still a safe haven.

The great majority of them probably won’t get asylum, but it probably won’t matter. While their applications are pending we will have to put them up in temporary housing, give them welfare, etc. They’ll get themselves installed here, and when their refugee claims are denied, they’ll stay anyway, beause we’re no better at finding and deporting illegal aliens than the US. I don’t know why we aren’t rejecting their refugee claims out of hand at the border - if they were legitimate refugees they could have applied for refugee status in the US.
The U.S. should post signs reading, “Wets to the Canadian border...stay on I-75 North.” ROFLMAO!!!
We need make the Canadian journey as pleasant and expeditious as it can be for our Mexican brothers.

I agree that it does take real courage and real work to change such a government. No disagreement from me on that point.
However, do you ever feel like it is futile trying to change our messed up government?
Their government is far worse and they have far less rights there.
I admire those that work to make their country better, but I can't blame Mexicans for getting frustrated with the enormity of the task and wanting to leave.
I don't even have a problems with them coming here as long as they do so legally and work to become productive members of our society.
I do very much mind them coming here illegally.
Easier still, mass printings of comic books instructing them to go to Canada. Just blanket all the popular illegal cities and towns with them. They’ll be chugging maple syrup and singing Oh Canada (with an accent) in no time. Gotta hand hand it to that “non-profit”......400 bucks to help fill out forms. There’s a sucker born every minute.
Ms. Gonzalez said that she had worked in a grocery store in the United States but that her employers had been asking more and more questions about her documents and her legal status.
I could smell the freedom when I crossed over, said Ms. Gonzalez, 25. I dont know whats going to happen next, but the pressure of worrying about getting caught never let you sleep well.
They are going to run out of room to print stuff on food packaging pretty soon.
I just hope this doesn't mean a longer line at the Ambassador Bridge tonight.
*They should go back to Mexico and storm THEIR OWN govt and demand better living conditions.*
It is easier to be a victum than an adult with self respect
They are not adults nor have self respect.
victum = victim
Ping!
If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
Adios, muchacho!
Hmmm. I wonder what “O Canada” sounds like when played by a mariachi band . . . .
O Canada, mi casa y patria
Do it!
LOL!
Funny how the S.Texas/Mexico ping list keeps crossing the Canada ping list lately.
