Couldn't the President just block him from "entering" the United States? (Not from going to the UN, but from physically entering the United States via an airport, for example?)

I dunno - we've let in scumbags like Arafat, Castro, Chavez, etc. The political fallout would be enormous around the world.

Yes, but none of thoese people are the head of the #1 state sponsor of terrorism while we're in a "War on Terror". And they are directly engaging in acts of war against our troops in Iraq. The case could easily be made, in my opinion.

US government granted visa to M.Ahmedinejad through embassy in Bern. Iranian President M. Ahmedinejad will stay in New York for two days and will be accompanied by high-level officials. A senior State Department official tells the waiver will be granted because of the limited nature of his visit. Ahmadinejad won’t be allowed to travel more than 25 miles beyond U.N. headquarters in New York City.

(this is probably accurate.....seems like I recall something similar being said last time......but a limit of 25 miles is not the same as anywhere he wishes within 25 miles, I hope.....seems to me his “rights” would be limited to the UN grounds, the Iranian interest here in lieu of an embassy)

“The Islamic Republic of Iran does not have its own embassy in Washington, though it does have a permanent mission to the United Nations in New York City”

Yeah, I can just see all those friendly Muslim countries starting to hate us, and that would be a novel event. Back to reality, I think we should have enough balls to show the world we really don't live by what they might think.
