Dear friend,

Our American way of life is under attack. And it is up to us to save it.

The world's elites are busy forming a North American Union. If they succeed, as they did in forming the European Union, the good ol’ USA will only be a memory. We cannot let that happen.

The UN wants to confiscate our firearms and impose a global tax. The UN elites want to control the oceans with the Law of the Sea Treaty. And they want to use our military to police the world.

Our right to own and use property is fading because bureaucrats and special interests are abusing eminent domain.

Our right to educate our children as we choose is under assault. "No Child Left Behind" is seeing to that. And our right to say "no" to forced mental screening of our school-aged children is nearly gone.

The elites gave us a national ID card. They also gave us the most misnamed legislation in history: The Patriot Act. And these same people are pushing to give amnesty to illegal immigrants and erase our national borders.

Record government debt is putting a burden on our children and grandchildren that is shameful.

Yes. Our American way of life is under attack. And it's understandable that many are concerned, even discouraged, about the kind of country our children and grandchildren will inherit.

But we must never let discouragement become surrender.

One reason I am NOT discouraged is because I know I am not fighting alone. Each day I head out I know that you and thousands of other patriotic, freedom-loving Americans are right beside me, standing brave and true for what is good and right.

I need your help now, more than ever, to save the country we love...for the people we love.

My wife Carol and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary early this year. We are proud parents of five children and 18 grandchildren. We love them very much, as I know you love your family.

As a U.S. congressman, I always think about the well-being of my family and of all the families of our great nation when I cast a vote or introduce legislation. I also remember that I have sworn a solemn oath to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States.

For me, upholding that oath is the first and best way to preserve and protect the blessed American way of life for our children and grandchildren.

And now you know why I'm running for president of the United States.

Sincerely,

Ron

Sorry for taking a little credit, but at least I was the first one to post the alarm. :)

You were quick on the trigger.

Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate that would retreat and surrender to Al Qaeda in Iraq.

Really?

Please explain the meaning of surrender and how it applies to Ron Paul.

The federal government has strayed so far from it’s true constitutional responsibilities that we Americans think it weird when someone calls it like it is.

That is not why I do not like Paul. I’d probably more inclined to cut the size and scope of the federal gov’t more than he would. It is his liberal, blame america foreign policy that is most troublesome.

I’m not supporting Paul either. There are many things I do not agree with him on.

He is correct however when it comes to the duties set forth for the federal government by the framers of the constitution.

The federal government has stepped waaaaaay outta bounds.

For those that have their heads buried in the sand, hitting the bong or wanting to exercise their twelve brain cells, Ron Paul wants to leave Iraq now. Buy doing so, he does not want to fight and defeat al Qaeda (the same al Qaeda that attacked us on 9/11 killing 3000 of our unarmed innocent Americans, that were not voluntary trained armed soldiers but civilians) that has committed the bulk of their forces there to defeat us. If we leave now, we are not defeating al Qaeda but retreating. We are not calling a draw with al Qaeda. We are surrendering the territory of Iraq to them. Ron Paul wants to leave Afghanistan now too. So al Qaeda will have safe havens to train and build their forces uninterrupted from us in Iraq and Afghanistan if he were POTUS. Ron Paul instead wants to invade Pakistan, a nuclear ally of ours that is committing and losing forces everyday to fighting al Qaeda.

What is his plan when they overthrow those governments and build and train armies of al Qaeda in the 10,000's or more in the territories of Iraq and Afghanistan? Is he just going to ignore them? Sooner or later we would be forced to go back to Iraq and Afghanistan under Paul's plan and we would face a far more capable and dangerous enemy in al Qaeda. To defeat them then would cost substantially more American lives, making the 4000 plus lives lost fighting the WOT in 6 years in two wars, look minuscule.

Does he really have to tell you?

Yes.

It's obvious to anyone not wearing a tinfoil hat.

The only thing that is obvious is that not too much is really obvious. i've seen plenty of legitimate freepers who have made similar comments without a shred of sarcasm.

He signs on today, has a Fred 08' tagline, and attempts to use sarcasm.

Hard to tell with CFRed Thompson supporters.

Moveon trolls are easy to spot.

An assertion, unless you want to confess something to the rest of us. How would you know Moveon's membership rolls?

None the less, i'm glad he or she is gone. We already have enough bots who drag down the average IQ of freepers. (no, i'm not hinting anything).

I’d like to think so, but in the last 38 years it’s never turned out like that before.

If a guy is very low in the polls, something has to change. I can’t do that for the candidate.

If he’s viable, I’ll go for him. If he’s not I’ll have to pick someone who is. On the day the voting takes place, I’m going to do my best not ot split the vote.

Understood, DoughtyOne, but in the meantime, i.e. before that day, let’s us recognize a sterling candidate who is a true conservative, with honorable military service and with an exemplary family life. Dr Ron Paul!

I have liked Duncan Hunter for a number of years. He’s not my Congressman so I don’t see a lot about him day to day. I can’t think of a single thing I don’t like about him. That’s not something I can say about any other candidate.

I think the man is qualified. I think he’d make one heck of a good President. I wish him well and I’ll be glad to say so from time to time, if it will help.

Ron Paul’s ideas of supporting the military are not exactly a selling point.

How about our national security, Federal borders? I guess that has little to do with anything huh?

>I’m going to do my best not ot split the vote.

And because you surrender to that fear, the next president will ...

1) run up the national debt
2) leave the borders open
3) abandon the unborn
4) more of the same

... just like they all have since Kennedy.
