“Student Suffering From Mystery Illness
Sep 21 2007 9:52AM
GROVE CITY, Ohio - A high school was disinfecting its football team locker room Thursday after a member of the team came down with a mysterious illness.
Justin Laborce, a captain of the Grove City High School football team, remained hospitalized Thursday night after being placed in a medically-induced coma.
Laborce (pictured, right) went to Columbus Children’s Hospital complaining of breathing problems. His family said doctors resorted to inducing a coma to fight an infection.
Exactly what sort of infection Laborce was suffering remained unclear Thursday. Relatives told 10TV News that doctors were unsure what was making him so sick.
Grove City coaches were having locker rooms and equipment disinfected as a precautionary measure, 10TV’s Laura Cole reported. There were no indications anyone else on the football team was sick.
