any day that we can make Harry Reid it and weep...sad
is a good day in my book.

I did catch that Webb’s and McCains amendments bit the dust. I hope the Levin/Reed bill does too. Durbin asked for recess so I assume he will have the floor in the morning. I have a hunch this is when he will follow with the Dream Act Amendment. Folks have to call in over this.

“Man politicians are annoying...”

They have an agenda. It’s called getting re-elected. It may not have anything to do with your interests or the country’s. Basically, a professional Washington politician is an elitist, more interested in him or herself than in you.

Smith running unopposed in primary and likely will win general. I can’t vote for him or the Dim since he is such a backstabber.

Pray for W and Our Troops

Why? Yes, he’s great when voting on the war, but he’s no conservative.

If this were in WWII, we'd be speaking German and Japanese.

Exactly. These idiots wanted to give National Guard and Reserve units a three year break between combat tours - sorry boys and girls, Billy Bob Clinton insured that our National Guard and Reserve units are closely tied to active duty divisions, and when they go to war, the Reserve and NG components must go to war.

As well, if they gave every soldier 15 months outside of Iraq or Afghanistan for every 15 months they serve in Iraq or Afghanistan, we'd never get things done.

It may suck for some, but I've got friends whose sons are on their third and fourth tours, and some are going to be coming up on their fifth towards the end of next year. They aren't bitching (well they are, but in a good way, if they weren't, I'd really have to wonder about them).

“Have we ruled out stupidity?” ;’)

As the Massachusetts (D) “Tip” O’Neill used to say, all politics is local. :’) Also, some of them don’t have to worry about reelection for over five years, by which time this particular stand will have faded from memory.

Maybe we should all kick in a couple of bucks to Cindy Sheehan’s campaign to oust Pelosi...

"...Cindy Sheehan’s campaign."

Didn't I read somewhere that that's TOAST? ...or was it that she, the crazy one, was just blowin' smoke?

One thing is sure however. ...Now that they've got that stamp thing working again, she'll be more easily identifiable to the uninitiated...

...However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the “left” started labeling me with the same slurs that the right used.

Cindy Sheehan banned from Daily Kos!

If it were up to me, I’d sit down with heads of Service, and ask the shortest useful deployment for all the troops. That way more of them are happier so that they could see their families more often, and some of them won’t be burned out.

But that’s just me.
